During the official visit to the Republic of Estonia, on June 6, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the e- Estonia Center - Symbol of the world's leading digital government.
Accompanying him were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son; leaders of ministries and branches in the working delegation.
With a modest country in terms of area and population, right from the birth of the Internet, Estonia has been very interested and immediately took advantage of this opportunity to develop the country.
Estonia focuses on erasing the fog of information technology; building infrastructure and developing digital platforms, practical applications for management, economic development and all areas of social life.
Despite initial difficulties, Estonia has now become a typical global model of national digital transformation.
In this journey, the e- EstoniaEstonia Center (e-estonia briefing Centre) acts as a vivid introduction window to Estonia's digital achievements and vision to the international community.
Established in 2009 in the capital Tallinn, the e-estonia Center is not only a technology exhibition center, but also a place for dialogues, consultations, experience sharing and partner connection on e-government, digital infrastructure, cyber security and innovation; where delegations from governments, businesses, and international organizations from more than 150 countries have come to learn about the e-estonia model.
The Center is a decentralized integrated platform, allowing more than 1,000 state agencies and private organizations to exchange data safely and effectively.
All information is encrypted and recorded for traceability. Along with that, Estonians are granted an electronic ID card with a legal digital signature. Thanks to that, Estonia can provide almost 100% of online public services.
In addition, the e-Residency program allows foreigners to become Estonian digital citizens to start and operate businesses remotely.
The Estonian e-estonia Center contributes to spreading the Estonian model to the world; many countries have learned or implemented elements in Estonian's digital ecosystem.
Here, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the delegates of the Vietnamese delegation discussed in depth with the country on issues of concern such as: Digital transformation solutions for countries with large populations and development conditions such as Vietnam; resources for digital transformation; the role of the Government and technology enterprises in the digital transformation process; ensuring security and safety in digital transformation; building, connecting, sharing data; solutions to help people easily access and use utilities brought by digital transformation, especially online public services.
Expressing his admiration and appreciation for Estonia's digital transformation achievements and the role of e- Estonia in this process, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the Estonian e-estonia Center in particular and Estonia in general cooperate, share and support Vietnam in digital transformation.
In the immediate future, it is recommended that the e- Estonia Center send a delegation to share experiences, inspire, and motivate Vietnam in digital transformation, building a digital government, digital society, and digital citizens.
Ms. Petra Holm - Director of Digital Transformation of e-estonia highly agreed with the Prime Minister's opinion; said she was ready to send a delegation to share and support Vietnam in digital transformation.
