Stick to the grassroots level, improve operational quality
After implementing the two-level local government model, the Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) directly manages 7 commune and ward trade unions and 640 grassroots trade unions (CĐCS), grassroots trade unions. The workload has increased, but trade union activities are still maintained smoothly thanks to the method of sticking to the area and orienting towards the grassroots level.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Phuoc - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Unisoll Vina Co., Ltd., Giao Long commune - said that although the number of grassroots trade unions directly managed by the Provincial Labor Federation is very large, the unit still always receives timely attention and guidance from leaders and trade union officials of the province.
According to Mr. Phuoc, from guiding the completion of dossiers, deploying emulation movements to organizing large-scale activities such as "Trade Union Meals" with thousands of workers, all are directly coordinated and supported by officials of the Provincial Labor Federation. Thanks to that, grassroots trade unions reduce organizational pressure, improve the quality of operations, and take better care of union members and workers.
Mr. Le Van Tien - Chairman of the Trade Union of Ty Xuan Co., Ltd. - said that the enterprise has more than 23,000 union members and employees, so the implementation of trade union activities always requires methodical preparation and close coordination.
According to Mr. Tien, with the attention of the Provincial Labor Federation, the company has been repeatedly selected as a pilot for organizing cultural, artistic, and sports programs, training in occupational safety and health, and launching initiative and creativity movements among workers.
Through this, workers clearly see their rights when participating in the Trade Union organization, actively respond to movements, and help the unit develop more than 700 new union members from the beginning of the year to now, exceeding the set plan.
Assigning localities, strongly focusing on grassroots levels
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Phuc Linh - Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Provincial Party Committee Member, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation - said that after arranging the organization, the unit quickly consolidated the apparatus, assigned officials to be in charge of each area according to their functions and tasks to ensure that trade union activities are not interrupted.
According to Mr. Linh, assigning officials to stick to the area helps promptly grasp the situation of labor relations, life, and jobs of workers, proactively guide and remove difficulties right from the grassroots level. This is also an important solution to improve the quality of representation, care and protection of the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
To date, the Provincial Labor Federation directly manages 7 commune and ward trade unions and 640 grassroots trade unions and grassroots trade unions with 176,970 union members out of a total of 184,799 workers, reaching a gathering rate of 95.76%. In the first 6 months of 2026, the whole province newly developed 13,628 union members and established 26 grassroots trade unions, reaching 68.14% and 52% of the annual targets respectively.
The Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial Labor Federation said that in the coming time, it will continue to innovate operating methods in the direction of being close to union members, close to grassroots levels; improve the quality of the contingent of officials, promote digital transformation and build an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
The focus is on promoting the effectiveness of the model of assigning responsibility to localities, bringing officials closer to businesses and workers, thereby strengthening the trust of union members, building the Trade Union organization to truly be a reliable support in the new situation," Mr. Phuc Linh added.
