The Vietnam Construction Trade Union (VTC) is currently managing and directly directing 36 trade unions at the grassroots level, 164 affiliated trade unions with a total of 138,927 cadres, civil servants and employees in the industry. Despite many difficulties, the living situation, employment and income of employees are basically maintained stably, the average income of employees at affiliated units reached 13.6 million VND/person/month, an increase of 11.15% over the same period in 2024.
In recent times, trade unions at all levels in the industry have effectively implemented many activities to practical care for union members and workers. Of which, on the occasion of Lunar New Year, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union has allocated 8.75 billion VND to visit and give gifts to 7,640 union members and workers in difficult circumstances. The affiliated trade unions at all levels have spent VND17.846 billion from the union's financial resources to visit and give gifts to union members and workers; coordinate with the professional team to give nearly 34,000 gifts in cash, more than 13,000 gifts in kind with a total value of over VND56 billion; organize shuttle buses to pick up and drop off workers to return home, support train and bus fares and organize Tet activities at the construction site for thousands of union members and workers.
On the occasion of Workers' Month 2025, trade unions at all levels organized many practical activities such as: Vietnam Construction Trade Union presented 1,120 gifts (each worth 1 million VND) to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. Trade unions at all levels have supported the construction of 9 new Trade Union Shelters with an amount of 720 million VND, organized periodic health check-ups for nearly 30,000 people; coordinated inspections of more than 1,000 occupational safety and health, organized 335 training courses for nearly 20,000 people.
Emulation work continues to be promoted with many vibrant and practical movements, associated with the political tasks of the industry and each unit. The whole industry has had 789 initiatives and technical improvements applied, bringing billions of VND in benefits; 176 emulation works and products were recognized; hundreds of collectives and individuals were commended and rewarded by trade unions at all levels.
The work of developing union members and building trade union organizations continues to be focused on. In the first 6 months of the year, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union established 3 new grassroots unions, admitted 2,393 new union members, introduced 420 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration, of which 106 comrades were admitted. Synchronously deploy the work of reviewing, planning, training and arranging cadres, contributing to perfecting the organizational apparatus, improving the quality of activities and building an increasingly strong Trade Union organization.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Pham Hoai Phuong - Chairman of the Vietnam Construction Trade Union - said that in the coming time, trade unions at all levels in the industry will continue to innovate the content and methods of trade union activities in a practical and effective direction, focusing on the grassroots, for the rights of union members and employees; strengthen coordination with professional colleagues to take care of jobs, life, protect the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees; organize conferences of cadres, civil servants, and employees, effectively implement grassroots democracy regulations; promote propaganda and education to raise political and legal awareness for union members and employees; participate in building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations at enterprises.
Launch and implement patriotic emulation movements, emulation movements for good labor, creative labor, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in all levels of trade unions and in each agency, unit, and enterprise.
