Tens of billions of VND to care for Tet for workers
Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Quyet - Standing Vice Chairman of the City Labor Federation (LĐLĐ) said that, implementing the policy of the City Party Committee, City People's Committee, and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of Binh Ngo Tet 2026, the Standing Committee of the City LĐLĐ soon issued a plan on giving gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of the New Year and organizing activities to care for union members and workers on the occasion of Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026.

On the occasion of Binh Ngo Tet 2026, leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Committees of the National Assembly, and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor presented 750 gift bags in kind and 750 cash gifts with a total fee of 1,275 million VND; Hai Phong City Party Committee and People's Committee spent 11.8 billion VND to subsidize 11,800 workers in difficult circumstances. The City Labor Federation spent more than 49.6 billion VND on Tet care activities for union members.
City trade union levels proactively coordinate with the government, professional departments at the same level, employers, and businesses to organize activities to care for union members and workers, creating conditions for workers in difficult circumstances to celebrate Tet with a joyful, warm, and excited spirit.

Warming the hearts of workers
On the morning of February 7th, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hung, a worker at Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd., and her eldest son came to Tet Sum vay early. Participating in the city-level Tet Sum vay program for the first time, Ms. Hung was both nervous and emotional.
Ms. Hung has worked at Yazaki Hai Phong Vietnam Co., Ltd. for 10 years now, with an average monthly income of about 8 million VND. Her husband works as a garment worker, salary of 5 million VND/month, 2 young children are of eating and studying age. Ms. Hung herself has heart disease, weak health, and must be examined and treated monthly.
“Yesterday, I received Tet gifts from the Company, today I received gifts and allowances from the City Trade Union. I am extremely touched, thank you for the concern and care of the Trade Union organization bringing a warm and prosperous Tet to the families of workers and laborers in difficult circumstances” – Ms. Hung said emotionally.
As for Ms. Nguyen Thi Hao, a worker at Hai Phong Public Works and Construction Joint Stock Company, being able to participate in the Tet reunion program, receiving meaningful gifts and allowances, is a great encouragement for her. After 16 years as a worker, Ms. Hao's family is still renting a room in Ngo Quyen ward (Hai Phong). Near Tet is the peak of work for Ms. Hao and her colleagues in the company, both maintaining the hygiene of the streets and pruning flower beds, ornamental plants, flower gardens, parks, creating the greenest and cleanest appearance for people to enjoy Spring and celebrate Tet. On New Year's Eve, environmental workers silently perform tasks on every kilometer, not being able to celebrate meaningful moments with their families. Ms. Hao shared: "Being cared for by the Hai Phong City Labor Federation, we are very happy, touched, and love our work, trade union organization, and encourage each other to complete the assigned tasks well.
On the morning of February 8th, Hai Phong City Labor Federation continued to organize the Tet reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party program for union members and workers in the western part of the city.
