On August 19 in Khai Long (Dat Mui, Ca Mau province), 3 national-scale projects were started: Ca Mau - Dat Mui Expressway; approach bridge from Dat Mui to Hon Khoai; Hon Khoai dual-use port.
Immediately after the start of construction, the construction units are ready to get to work. After just over 2 months on the construction site of the mainland road connecting to Hon Khoai Island and Hon Khoai dual-use port, construction was urgently begun. Hundreds of engineers and workers are working day and night on the project. On the vast beach, where the sea wind blows strongly, dozens of specialized equipment, motor vehicles, barges and a large set of CDM machines are operating simultaneously, creating an unprecedentedly vibrant and bustling working rhythm in the southernmost part of the country.
DACINCO Investment - Construction Company Limited, one of the project's construction forces, mobilized 118 personnel to Hon Khoai Island, including 31 engineers, 1 bachelor, 18 drivers - machines and 68 highly skilled workers. At the same time, 46 main equipment have also been gathered on the island, creating a foundation for construction teams to simultaneously deploy. The CDM D1800 system is continuing to be imported, expected to reach 8 units in November 2025 and 12 units in December 2025. Two large barges weighing 10,000 tons and 7,300 tons have also been mobilized to serve the CDM construction line.
At the temporary shelter, the construction volume is also accelerating day by day. The Geotube pipe sand pumping work has been completed at 23,529/36,036.78m3, reaching 65.1%. Although the sand pumping at the temporary land is still in the early stages, 850/206,954m3 has been deployed. Notably, the D1200 cement and soil pile item has been completed for testing; from November 12, 2025, it has begun to move to the main stage and has now completed 8 long stakes and 3 short stakes, creating a foundation to prepare for mass implementation in the coming time.
In the area of the main wharf and the approach bridge, groups of workers worked day and night. The construction unit has completed casting 31/31 test piles, packing 13/13 D800 test piles and 6/18 D900 piles, ensuring the overall progress of the entire project.
On the afternoon of November 25, the Provincial People's Committee held a launching ceremony for the peak emulation period to complete site clearance for the Ca Mau - Dat Mui expressway, the traffic route to Hon Khoai island and Hon Khoai port. The units signing the emulation agreement are determined to hand over 100% of the site to the construction unit before December 15.
At the emulation launching ceremony, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi said that these are large projects of national stature. The completed projects are of great significance not only in Ca Mau. The Chairman of Ca Mau requested that communes with projects must focus on leadership, direction, mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, strengthening propaganda and mobilization work to ensure the progress of compensation payment, and support for resettlement quickly, ensuring compliance with regulations. Do a good job of emulation and reward, promptly commend and honor typical advanced collectives and individuals, good and creative ways of doing things, creating motivation and influence among the people.
Hon Khoai dual-use general port is planned as a strategic deep-water port for the Mekong Delta key economic region, capable of receiving ships with a capacity of up to 250,000 DWT, with a port of 1,000m long and a designed capacity of 20 million tons/year. When completed, the port will become a direct international trade gateway, contributing to reducing pressure on the port system in Ho Chi Minh City and the Southeast.
