Currently, Tai Kim Anh Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company (An Nghiep Industrial Park, An Ninh commune, Can Tho city) has more than 1,000 employees working, with a trade union membership rate of about 70%.
According to the assessment of the Can Tho City Labor Federation, the Company's grassroots trade union (CĐCS) has been and is doing a good job of caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; actively and promptly grasping the thoughts and aspirations of workers.
Expecting access to social housing
On the morning of April 16, in an exchange with reporters, Mr. Huynh Van Thien (working at the packaging department) said that during the traditional Tet holiday Chol Chnam Thmay of the Khmer ethnic people, the grassroots trade union has coordinated with the company's leadership to create conditions for brothers and sisters to happily celebrate Tet fully. According to Mr. Thien, this is a great encouragement and motivation to help local workers feel secure and stick with the company for a long time.

In our work, we are concerned about occupational safety and health, income, quality of meals and gifts for holidays and Tet" - Mr. Thien added.
That close attention has created trust for Mr. Thien and he regularly expresses his concerns to the grassroots trade union.
I often confide in the trade union about the need for social housing, because that is the reason why until now, I have not dared to get married. My wish is that after taking care of my parents fully, I will have my own home, hoping the trade union organization will support me to buy it in installments or rent it out at a cheap price, suitable for the income of us workers" - Mr. Thien confided.

Working at the human resources department, more than anyone else, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lien understands very well the aspirations of the majority of female workers working at Tai Kim Anh Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company: "In addition to the useful information disseminated monthly at the company, we want to have more practical activities in caring for women's health, especially pregnant women and women with young children".
Sending expectations to Congress
Mr. Duong Viet Trung - Chairman of the grassroots trade union of Tai Kim Anh Seafood Processing Joint Stock Company - hopes that the XIV Vietnam Trade Union Congress, expected to be held in May, will bring more comprehensive changes in the work of caring for workers, especially for industries and specialized areas.
We want to have specialized policies on working conditions, occupational health care, income and social security, suitable to the characteristics of cold, high-intensity working environments. Above all, implement and provide specific guidance on social housing issues" - Mr. Trung informed.

The Chairman of the grassroots trade union also expects trade union levels to strongly innovate operating methods, promote digital transformation and expand welfare programs to bring more practical and sustainable benefits to workers.
