Opening a mini park in social housing
In Binh Duong ward, Hoa Loi Social Housing Area has been operating since 2014, to date there are about 2,450 apartments with about 5,000 people living. Initially, a park was not invested in and built methodically, and there was no community house for people to organize funeral and wedding activities. To create a living space and spiritual culture for workers, from 2022, the Management Board of Hoa Loi Social Housing Area started building a mini park right here.
The Ward People's Committee, the project investor, the Management Board, and residents join hands to build a cleaner and more beautiful park space. Previously, everyone knew their own house when they came home from work, but now every afternoon, workers and children gather to play in this small park.
After a hard working day, coming to the social housing area, having a place to walk, exercise and relax is very necessary. Since this mini park went into operation, I have seen many workers and children come here to play. I also regularly come to exercise and relax" - Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong, a worker shared.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Cuong, Head of Hoa Loi Social Housing Management Board, shared: "Initially, this area was just a vacant lot, the Management Board for the 2022-2025 term has requested the policy of the ward and the investor to jointly build a park. The Management Board continues to mobilize businesses to donate more exercise machines, benches, and build volleyball courts.
Since having this park, the unit has organized many activities for workers such as: organizing volleyball tournaments for people to compete; organizing Mid-Autumn Festival, International Children's Festival for children; organizing music nights here to serve the spiritual life of workers”.
Mr. Nguyen Tan Cuong added that the unit is continuing to propose to the Ward People's Committee to support the construction of President Ho Chi Minh's space here so that workers can study and follow Uncle Ho.
Diverse playgrounds for young workers
Chanh Phu Hoa Ward is one of the localities with a large concentration of workers. For many years, Binh Duong Youth Activity Center has become a meeting point for cultural and spiritual activities of workers working in My Phuoc 2 and My Phuoc 3 industrial parks. The center has a multi-purpose gymnasium, which workers can use to play volleyball and badminton on weekdays. In addition, the Center also built a swimming pool to serve workers and children.
“A year, the Center has 5-10 swimming classes, these classes teach swimming for free, preventing drowning for workers and children. Swimming pools are opened daily to serve workers with preferential fees. In the gymnasium, the Center promotes the development of badminton. Currently, the badminton club has about 200 workers participating. The Center also regularly organizes swimming competitions and badminton tournaments to create a sports emulation movement” - Mr. Do Van Phung - Director of Binh Duong Youth Activities Center said. The Center also has enough space and equipment to organize cultural and spiritual activities for workers. Recently, the Center has expanded and organized the above activities in companies with hundreds of workers.
