Linking emulation movements with social responsibility
The Da Nang City Labor Federation has just organized a writing contest on models and examples of good people and good deeds in the workers, civil servants, and laborers movement in 2026. This is the 4th time the Da Nang City Labor Federation has organized this contest. The previous two times, the contest created a great resonance, attracting the participation of professional writers from local and central press agencies based in Da Nang. In particular, the contest also attracted a large number of trade union officials, union members, and workers in grassroots trade unions.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation emphasized that this year's contest continues to be organized widely, not only for professional journalists but also encourages trade union officials, union members and workers to participate. The content of the works focuses on reflecting good models, creative ways of implementing the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws and Trade Union resolutions; and at the same time honoring advanced examples in labor production, technical innovation initiatives, and application of science and technology in practice. The contest takes place until the end of June 30, 2026, and is expected to summarize and award prizes on the occasion of the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 2026).
On this occasion, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also organized a series of accompanying activities to widely propagate the meaning and importance of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress; thereby creating unity in awareness, consolidating trust and continuing to affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in the new period. The activities are not only propaganda but also closely linked to the political tasks of the city and the production and business activities of enterprises, contributing to building Da Nang to develop quickly, sustainably, civilized, and modernly.
Creating new momentum for the workers' movement
Not stopping at honoring good values, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also launched a movement to mobilize trade union members to join hands to build 10 Great Solidarity Houses in Phuoc Tra commune - a twin locality of the City Labor Federation. With a total estimated budget of about 1.25 billion VND, the program is implemented on a voluntary basis, each union member contributes according to the conditions of each unit.
This is not only an activity with the meaning of material support, but also a connection between the Trade Union organization and the community, clearly showing the role of the working class in sharing social responsibility. The houses built are not simply a place to live, but also a fulcrum for difficult households to stabilize their lives, thereby gradually improving the quality of life, contributing to ensuring social security in the locality" - Mr. Dai said.
The simultaneous launch of many activities on this occasion shows the comprehensive approach of the Da Nang Trade Union in building the workers' movement, when both honoring and spreading good values; both caring for life; and creating emulation motivation associated with socio-economic development. Through the contest, stories about good people and good deeds will no longer be fragmented pieces, but will be systematized and widely spread, contributing to forming a positive flow in the lives of workers.
More importantly, when good models and initiatives are recognized and spread, they will become a source of inspiration to replicate in practice, contributing to improving labor productivity, production quality and the lives of workers. That is also an important foundation for the workers' movement to contribute to Da Nang city's continued rapid and sustainable development in the new period.
