Ms. Nguyen Thuc Hien (worker in Thang Long Industrial Park, Thien Loc commune, Hanoi City) and her husband and children returned to their hometown in Phu Tho for 9 days of Tet holiday. During Tet days in her hometown, she did not go anywhere, mainly spending time resting with her family, wishing Tet to her paternal, maternal, and neighbors.
Ms. Nguyen Thuc Hien plans to take a ride with her husband and 2 children to her rented room in Nhue village (Thien Loc commune, Hanoi City) on the afternoon of February 22nd to be able to work at the company on the morning of February 23rd.
Similarly, Ms. Tran Thi Hien (worker at Thang Long Industrial Park) plans to go to Hanoi on February 22. Ms. Tran Thi Hien worked until the 28th of the Lunar New Year before being off work. Before Tet holiday, she heard that working overtime during Tet would be paid very high salaries, so she applied for overtime work throughout Tet, but was not approved by the company. She returned to her hometown with her family, having holidays with relatives and family.
Mr. Hung - the owner of a boarding house in Nhue village (Thien Loc commune, Hanoi City) - said that currently there are only about 2-3 workers returning to the boarding house area. "It will be until February 22nd that more workers from the countryside will come to the boarding house area to prepare for the working session on February 23rd (ie, the 7th day of Tet)", Mr. Hung said.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuat (worker at Pou Hung Vietnam Co., Ltd., Tay Ninh province) said that she is asking her younger brother to book train tickets online to go to the South. "I don't have the economic conditions to buy air tickets, moreover, it's probably very difficult to buy, so I choose the option to go to the South that suits my budget, which is to travel by train," Ms. Tuat said. She plans to go to the South on the 23rd or 24th.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuat and her child were supported by the Trade Union organization with air tickets in the Trade Union Flight 2026 program. Thanks to the support of the Trade Union organization, she had a complete Tet reunion with her family and loved ones, and reunited with friends after many years of separation.
Besides workers who have not returned to work, there are workers who have finished the Tet holiday, left their hometowns, and returned to their homes early.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Ka (worker at Ching Luh Vietnam Shoe Co., Ltd., Tay Ninh province) left her hometown of Ninh Binh after the holidays. This female worker is one of the cases supported by the Trade Union organization to return to her hometown for Tet on Trade Union Flight 2026.
Ms. Mai Ka said that she flew to Ho Chi Minh City to return to Tay Ninh on the morning of February 21. She had more than 1 day of rest at home before entering the working days of the new year.
