After nearly 40 years of renovation, when the country enters the stage of industrialization, modernization associated with knowledge economy and international integration, the requirement for the working class is not only to stop at the key role of labor but also to rise to become a class with knowledge, political will and modern industrial style. This is an inevitable path for Vietnamese workers to continue to affirm their position, worthy of the trust of the Party and the people.
Intellectualizing the working class does not mean turning everything into professional intellectuals, but is a comprehensive process of improving knowledge, education, professional skills and political will. Today's workers need to have a solid education and skills, be trained and improve regularly, in line with rapid changes in technology. At the same time, they must practice steadfast political will, clearly aware of their pioneering role in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Along with that is the improvement of culture and life skills, so that workers not only work effectively but also have a rich spiritual life in a healthy cultural environment.
The intellectualization of the working class is not only the personal effort of each worker but also requires the synchronous participation of the entire political system. The State must continue to improve social policies, fully pay attention to the legitimate interests of workers such as employment, income, social insurance, health insurance, living conditions, study and health care. Party committees, authorities and enterprises at all levels also need to attach importance to building and consolidating Party and trade union organizations in enterprises, to form a core force, leading the team of workers, helping them promote their pioneering role and represent the interests of their class.
Vietnam Trade Union, with a tradition of nearly a century, continues to play an important role in this process. Not only representing, caring for and protecting the legitimate rights of workers, trade unions are also a bridge between the Party, the State and workers, creating a favorable environment for workers to study, practice and improve their qualifications. In the context of integration with very high requirements for human resource quality, trade unions must further promote their role in organizing, gathering, and encouraging workers to improve themselves to keep up with international standards.
The whole country is happily celebrating the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution, National Day September 2. This is also the time to look back and affirm the pioneering position and pillar role of the working class in the great national unity bloc. Thereby, creating strength in the cause of building a rich, civilized and modern country of the Party and the entire nation.
