On December 15, in Kon Tum province, Emulation Cluster No. 8 of the Labor Federation of 5 Central Highlands provinces held a conference to summarize emulation work in 2024 and deploy key tasks in 2025.
Emulation cluster No. 8 currently has 273,338 workers, civil servants and laborers. Of these, 257,493 are union members of 6,662 grassroots unions.
As of November 30, 2024, the Central Highlands provinces recorded 29 work-related accidents, resulting in 17 deaths. The trade union promptly provided legal advice, support, encouragement, and protection of the rights of affected workers.
Collective bargaining and labor agreement signing achieved many positive results with 678 collective agreements signed.
Of which, 182 units organized dialogues and negotiations to improve welfare, especially improving the value of shift meals for workers.
The emulation cluster visited and gave gifts to 155,377 difficult cases and those with serious illnesses with a total cost of more than 72 billion VND.
The program "Union Shelter" continues to spread, supporting the construction and repair of houses for 186 union members and workers in difficult circumstances with a budget of more than 5.43 billion VND.
Speaking at the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Phan Van Anh praised and highly appreciated emulation cluster No. 8 in developing union and trade union members.
In 2025, trade unions at all levels in the Central Highlands will continue the task of developing union members along with Party building work.
At the same time, review, rearrange and merge agencies and units in a streamlined and efficient manner, practice thrift and combat waste according to the policies set forth by the Party and State.
“If dissolved or merged, public assets related to real estate and assets on land are redundant and not needed, there must be a plan to handle them.
The General Confederation's viewpoint is that if there is no need to use the assets, they will be handed over to local authorities for management. Because if used for the wrong purpose or not used at all, it is also a waste" - Mr. Phan Van Anh shared.
