On September 18, the People's Committee of Can Tho City issued a decision approving the Project on Developing Labor Relations in Can Tho City until 2030.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of the city to take the lead and coordinate with heads of relevant agencies and units to organize the implementation of assigned tasks.
The objective of this Project is to build and operate a new labor relations system in accordance with the socialist-oriented market economy and basic international labor standards that Vietnam has committed to ensuring progress, harmony and stability, ensuring the rights of employees and employers in labor relations, maintaining social security and order.
Accordingly, Can Tho will have 100% of labor representative organizations at the grassroots level, when requested, receive guidance on establishment, registration, and support in dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements.
By 2030, the city will admit 30,000 new union members and establish 150 or more new grassroots unions.
100% of executive board and leadership board officials of labor representative organizations at the grassroots level are trained and fostered in labor relations knowledge and skills when elected to the executive board and leadership board.
Complete the development of the Arbitration Council's operating regulations, ensuring that 100% of labor arbitrators are trained, fostered, and updated with knowledge, skills, and expertise in labor relations and labor dispute resolution;
Complete the development of regulations on labor conciliation management, consolidate and improve the labor conciliation team, ensure that 100% of labor conciliators are trained, fostered and perform well both the functions of supporting labor relations and conciliating labor disputes.
