Proactively plan holidays and production
Representatives of TKG Taekwang Can Tho Co., Ltd. said that they have announced a 4-day holiday schedule (April 26, April 27, April 30 and May 1), all employees will return to work from May 2. Depending on production needs, some departments may be arranged to work during the holiday and receive salaries according to regulations. The enterprise also pays a bonus of 300,000 VND/person for eligible cases to encourage the morale of employees after peak periods.
To ensure safety during the break, departments are required to check, rearrange the working area, turn off electrical equipment, and strictly implement fire prevention and fighting regulations. Security forces are strengthened to inspect to ensure security and order throughout the factory area.
In the context of increasing orders, businesses are promoting recruitment with a demand of about 2,000 general laborers for stages such as base pressing, glue sweeping, paint spraying, sewing... Flexible recruitment conditions, no experience requirement, contributing to supplementing human resources to serve production. In addition to salary and insurance according to regulations, workers also enjoy many benefits such as 13th month salary, periodic salary increases, new worker bonuses... The business also maintains direct application receipt and promotes recruitment communication to attract labor.
Flexible swap, ensuring no interruption
Not only scheduling holidays, many businesses also proactively plan to swap working days to extend the holiday but still ensure production plans. Mr. Do Danh Giap - Chairman of the Trade Union of Nissei Company (Thang Long Industrial Park, Hanoi) - said that the business has swapped the working day from April 28th to Saturday after the holiday, and also used one annual leave day on April 29th. Thanks to that, about 1,500 workers have 8 consecutive days off, from April 26th to the end of May 3rd.
This holiday schedule is agreed upon between the trade union and employers, announced early based on consulting workers' opinions, so it has received high consensus. According to Mr. Giap, proactive planning from the beginning of the year helps businesses avoid being passive when there is a proposal to change the holiday schedule close to the date. "The production plan has been promoted from the beginning of the year, so the long holiday does not significantly affect progress" - he said, adding that arranging compensatory work on Saturdays helps businesses both ensure legal regulations and maintain a stable production pace.
Mr. Bui Sy Loi - former Chairman of the National Assembly's Social Committee - said that holidays are necessary for workers to regenerate labor and promote tourism, but holidays should not be too long for a developing economy. He analyzed that long holidays can bring benefits to some service industries, but at the same time cause production disruption, increase costs and put pressure on businesses in completing orders. Therefore, workday swaps should only be implemented at a reasonable level, in necessary cases. "It is necessary to calculate so that workers can both rest and have conditions to increase income, while ensuring stable production activities and promoting economic development" - Mr. Loi stated his point of view.
