Hanoi Employment Service Center said that in August 2026, the Capital's economy continued to witness solid and comprehensive growth momentum, clearly reflected in the socio-economic context and the recruitment picture of businesses.
August witnessed the breakthrough recruitment of the service sector and the stagnant demand for personnel recruitment in the industry - construction sector.
Notably, although the proportion of recruitment in the industry - construction sector has decreased, major infrastructure projects in the Capital continue to accelerate progress, causing the "thirst" for construction human resources to actually not cool down but shift to a state of fierce competition for positions of engineers and highly skilled workers.
Along with that, the market is shifting to a state of selective recruitment, prioritizing stabilizing the existing labor force and only adding truly essential positions of engineers and highly skilled workers.
The Hanoi Employment Service Center believes that the market also reveals a clear trend of differentiation with a shortage of personnel.
Regarding qualifications, businesses continue to increase the recruitment of workers with college and university degrees or higher (total demand accounts for 52.5%).
Meanwhile, the supply of job seekers is prominent in 2 groups: the university and above group (accounting for 36.2%) and the untrained labor group (accounting for 28%).
Thus, while the market has a total demand of 52.5% for college and university degrees or higher, the supply for this demand alone only reaches 36.2%.
The shortage of personnel makes it difficult for employers and they have to compete fiercely to attract labor," said a representative of the Hanoi Employment Service Center.
Regarding recruitment by job group, businesses have the largest demand in the mid-level (22%) and high-level (20.4%) professional groups, but the number of applications from workers is concentrated in ordinary service job groups or assembly workers, machinery and equipment operators.
Hanoi Employment Service Center said that the supply of the operating group accounts for 16.1% of the total dossiers, while the actual recruitment demand of businesses for this group only accounts for 8.5%.
