Helping workers improve their skills
The movement to strive for the title of "Good worker of the Capital" is implemented annually, from the grassroots level. After that, the City Labor Federation will consider selecting to award the City-level title.
As one of 100 workers (Workers) who won the title of "Good Worker of the Capital" at the City level in 2024, Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - a worker at Minh Quang Trading and Industry Company Limited (Dong Anh, Hanoi) shared: "Thanks to the emulation movement organized by the Trade Union (CD), I have the intention to explore and learn to improve my skills".
Ms. Huong is a mechanical processing worker, operating many types of machines such as CNC cutting machines, borers, road rolling machines, hydraulic presses, and blenders. In addition to training from the company, she always actively learn through books, the Internet and colleagues to improve her skills and increase labor productivity.
Responding to the "Good Workers of the Capital" movement, she has had many valuable initiatives, including improvements to help shorten the processing time of unusual surface products, contributing positively to the company's production efficiency.
Ms. Huong noticed that the processing time for a product detail with an unusual surface was 50 seconds and has researched and improved it to shorten it. Thanks to the proposal to change cutting tools, the processing time is reduced to 45 seconds/detail.
Not only is she good at her profession, she is always willing to share experiences and guide colleagues to complete their tasks well. According to her, only when the whole group progresses, can the enterprise develop sustainably, and the lives of workers will improve. For many consecutive years, she has been awarded the title of "Outstanding employee".
The intense vitality of an emulation movement
The reason why the emulation movement to achieve the title of "Good Workers of the Capital" is welcomed and responded to by both workers and businesses is because the movement has specific emulation criteria, close to and directly associated with workers.
At the grassroots level, the movement is also concretized to suit the reality of the unit. The movement has contributed to motivating, exploiting the potential, intelligence, and enthusiasm of each employee in research, creativity, exploring innovative initiatives, drawing experience from the profession, researching technological processes to rationalize production, creating the highest productivity, quality, and efficiency, saving materials, raw materials, and lowering product prices, thereby contributing to improving production and business efficiency and improving the lives of workers.
It is worth noting that in the first years of launching, the number of responding enterprises and employees recognized as "Good workers in the Capital" was mainly concentrated in state-owned enterprises and state-owned joint stock companies, but up to now, the number of employees achieving the title of "Good workers in the Capital" is mainly concentrated in non-state enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises.
In 2024, the whole city of Hanoi will have 62,520 employees recognized as "Excellent Workers" at the grassroots level; 2,230 employees recognized as "Excellent Workers" at the grassroots level". In particular, in the FDI enterprise sector alone, it accounts for 35% of the number of workers honored; the number of workers of level 3, 4, and 5 achieving the title of "Good Worker" accounts for over 60%; workers with skills level 6 and 7 achieving the title of "Good Worker" account for over 35%...
