On June 9, according to the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, after the merger and organization, the new Dong Nai province (merging Dong Nai province and Binh Phuoc province) will have about 2,200 grassroots unions and 750,000 union members.
Previously, on June 5, the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor and the Binh Phuoc Federation of Labor held a conference to discuss and inform about the activities of the trade union organizations of the two provinces; at the same time, discussed a plan to submit to the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee when implementing the merger and arrangement of trade union organizations of the two provinces.
According to information at the conference, the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor is managing 17 trade unions at the grassroots level, with nearly 3,000 grassroots trade unions with more than 682,000 union members/724,000 workers. For the Binh Phuoc Provincial Federation of Labor, it is managing 14 direct superior trade unions at the grassroots level with nearly 1,400 grassroots trade unions and over 131,000 union members.
However, after the end of operation, and the establishment of trade unions in administrative agencies, armed forces, and public service units receiving 100% of salaries from the state budget, it is expected that after the merger of Dong Nai and Binh Phuoc provinces, the number of grassroots trade unions will be about more than 2,200 units and 750,000 union members.
After the merger, the trade unions of the two provinces will continue to replicate the models and effective methods of the two units in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers.
