On the morning of May 5, Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Labor Federation to organize the Launching Ceremony of the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health - Workers' Month 2026 and the opening of the 25th Occupational Safety and Health - Fire and Explosion Prevention Contest in 2026.
Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee said that today's event is not only a starting point, but also an action order, requiring each level, each sector, each agency, unit, enterprise and the whole society to enhance responsibility and join hands to care for the lives of workers.
This is an important condition to continue improving working conditions, protecting the labor environment, strengthening the application of artificial intelligence, digital data and smart monitoring systems to early identify risks, control risks, and minimize labor accidents and occupational diseases.
On that basis, the Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee requested all levels, sectors, localities, businesses and workers to focus on implementing many key contents.
That is to promote the application of digital transformation in direction and administration, strengthen connection, data sharing, improve management, supervision and risk warning capacity in this field; seriously comply with the provisions of law on occupational safety and health.
Each worker and laborer in the province needs to raise awareness of law compliance and labor discipline; proactively study and train to improve their qualifications and professional skills, especially digital skills and occupational safety skills.
Specifically, Trade Union levels continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation in a practical and effective direction.
At the launching ceremony, 3 collectives of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation with typical achievements in effectively implementing the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring labor safety and hygiene" in 2025 also received certificates of merit and bonuses attached from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Dong Thap Provincial Labor Federation also commended 13 collectives and 3 individuals who achieved outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and hygiene" in 2025.
Immediately after the launching ceremony, 89 teams began to conduct the competitions of the Occupational Safety and Hygiene - Fire and Explosion Prevention Contest.
According to the organizers, all work in this year's competition was prepared very meticulously and carefully to ensure safety and efficiency. Right from the first competition, the teams excitedly participated with a serious spirit, creating a lively and dramatic atmosphere.
