On the evening of October 7, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor (DOLF) coordinated with the Tan Huong commune government and the Nhut Duy boarding house owner to organize the launching ceremony of the self-managed workers' boarding house in 2025. The event took place in a vibrant competitive atmosphere towards the Trade Union Congresses at all levels and the Congresses of the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels for the 2026 - 2031 term and to celebrate the success of the 1st Dong Thap Provincial Party Congress.

Attending the ceremony were Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Trang - Vice President of the Provincial Federation of Labor; Mr. Truong Thanh Hoa - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee (UBND) of Tan Huong commune; representatives of the Propaganda Department and the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; and representatives of the Propaganda Department, the Trade Union Department of industrial parks, economic zones, Tan Huong Commune Police, landlords and more than 40 workers.

At the ceremony, the People's Committee of Tan Huong commune announced the decision to establish a self-managed Workers' Group and a Conciliation Team for Nhut Duy boarding house (Tan Lap hamlet) consisting of 5 members, headed by Ms. Le Thi Be Hai, the boarding house owner. The boarding house has 47 workers participating, is a place for living, learning life skills, disseminating laws and building a spirit of solidarity and mutual support.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Ngo Thi Thuy Trang - Vice President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor - emphasized: "Self-managed workers' groups not only help stabilize housing but also create a space for cohesion, improve cultural life, spirit, law and life skills for workers. This is a practical model that contributes to maintaining security and order and building the image of a civilized and loyal worker.
On this occasion, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor presented the 30-seat boarding house, 1 loudspeaker, 5 gifts and 5 free health check-up tickets, worth nearly 10 million VND, to serve the living and support workers in difficulty.

In 2025, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor will coordinate with the Tan Huong commune government to launch 3 self-managed worker dormitories with more than 120 workers participating. To date, the whole province has 91 Self-managed Workers' Groups with 8,272 workers and 63 mediation groups with 365 members.

The formation of self-managed workers' dormitories shows the concern of the Trade Union, the government and the landlord for workers, contributing to building a safe, civilized and humane living environment.
