The Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union Workers' Counseling and Support Center in coordination with the Trade Union University organized the opening ceremony of training classes "Theory and professional skills of Trade Union work" for nearly 100 trade union officials in Ho Chi Minh City on August 1.
The class combines direct and online forms and lasts for nearly 3 months. Trade union officials will be equipped with basic knowledge about the overview of the Vietnam Trade Union; the Charter of the Vietnam Trade Union and guiding documents for implementation; laws on labor and trade unions; skills in collective dialogue, negotiation, signing and supervision of collective labor agreements; skills in participating in management, leadership, operation of trade union organizations and activities; trade union finance - accounting work; skills in propaganda, communication, mobilization of union members, workers and women's work; contents on professional development of union members, establishment of grassroots trade unions...
In addition, trade union officials will also exchange and discuss practical issues and go to the field to learn, share experiences, and improve their ability to handle arising situations...
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Manh Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Rector of the University of Trade Unions - said that in the current context, to meet practical requirements, grassroots trade union officials need to improve their qualities and capabilities; be quick in thinking, strong in skills, especially skills in negotiation and bargaining. Therefore, the class will equip and update knowledge, skills and professional skills of trade union work, thereby improving the capacity to perform tasks of the team of trade union officials in the new situation, in line with the direction of innovation in training and fostering of the trade union organization.
Mr. Phung Thai Quang - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union Workers' Counseling and Support Center - said that the Resolution of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030, has the task of 100% of full-time trade union officials being standardized in professional qualifications, political theory and trade union nghiệp vụ suitable for their job positions.
