Nearly 1,000 Yupoong Company workers stopped working on Thursday

Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Loteco Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City), is a textile company with 100% Korean capital.

Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. has a total of 1,793 employees.

Since July 18, 400 workers of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. have stopped working collectively after information that the company adjusted the regional minimum wage to increase by 140,000 VND/person/month. Workers requested an increase of 280,000 VND/person/month, according to Decree 74/2024/ND-CP dated June 30, 2024 of the Government.

On July 19, about 1,500 workers stopped working and continued to stop working in the following days (July 20, July 22).

As of today (July 23), the collective stoppage of workers of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. has entered the 5th day.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the interdisciplinary working group of Bien Hoa City and Dong Nai province continuously worked with the Board of Directors of Yupoong Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Loteco Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City) and proposed to This company adjusted the regional minimum wage for workers from 200,000 VND - 280,000 VND/person/month.

At the same time, invite employee representatives to dialogue, negotiate and explain so that employees understand.

The company stated that it has no orders so it cannot further adjust the minimum wage for employees.

Up to now, the company has maintained the increase of 140,000 VND, with no further adjustments. The company also recorded and broadcast on loudspeakers calling on workers to return to work normally.

According to the authorities, as of noon on July 23, there were still 996 workers who had stopped working collectively, 744 workers had started work and 53 workers were on maternity leave.
