The VGCL has issued a resolution focusing resources on caring for the welfare of union members and workers in the new situation. According to the VGCL, nearly 23 million turns of union members and workers have been supported and cared for every Tet holiday, with a total amount of nearly 15,000 billion VND. The total amount of care is 27,220.6 billion VND.
The VGCL has also proactively proposed and coordinated to remove difficulties and obstacles in mechanisms and policies in building houses for workers to rent.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, it is expected that by the end of 2026, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has started and will start construction of a total of more than 3,800 Trade Union houses. In which, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour has started construction of 3 projects in Dong Thap (526 units), Vinh Long (672 units) and Bac Ninh (477 units). In the coming time, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour will start construction of 3 projects, Bac Ninh (813 apartments), Quang Ngai (603 apartments) and Da Nang (735 apartments).
5 million union members attend Trade Union meal
Workers' Month continues to be innovated, oriented towards grassroots levels, practically cared for, and honored the pioneering and creative role of the working class. Besides traditional models, many new models have achieved positive results, typically Trade Union Meals with more than 20,000 grassroots trade unions organizing, attracting more than 5 million union members to participate.
On the occasion of Workers' Month 2026, on May 26-27, the Trade Union of Da Bac Logistics Company (under TKV Trade Union) coordinated to organize a Trade Union Meal for all employees in the company. This is a truly meaningful activity for employees, showing the concern and encouragement of the company's leaders and trade union towards employees, bringing much joy and internal cohesion.
According to company leaders, employees are the most valuable asset of the business. Keeping employees is not only about income, but also about practical care from meals and timely greetings. Therefore, Trade Union Meals will continue to be maintained and improved in quality to become more practical and meaningful.
According to the Trade Union of Da Bac Logistics Company: The Trade Union meal is organized for over 1,300 union members and workers with a cost of 100,000 VND/portion (the value of the previous meal was 30,000 VND/portion), full of nutrients, ensuring food safety and hygiene and still has all the dishes that workers love such as: boiled chicken, squid patties, braised pork, stir-fried buffalo meat, crab fish soup... Besides, there is also dessert yogurt.
Ms. Dang Thi Thanh Hoa, a worker at Mao Khe Equipment Operation workshop, shared: "Not only stopping at supporting to increase the value of meals but also bringing joy to workers. After a period of working, we were able to sit down and have a warm meal, receiving handshakes, friendly greetings, and the concern from the Board of Directors is a precious spiritual gift.
Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of TKV Trade Union said that the organization of "Trade Union Meals" is a meaningful activity that not only brings nutritious meals but also spreads the concern and sharing of the Trade Union organization with workers. Not just a simple meal but also has great significance in terms of solidarity, sharing and understanding between members in units. Through Trade Union Meals, building trust and attachment of union members and workers to the Trade Union organization and businesses. It is a motivation for each worker to be determined to accompany businesses to strive to excellently complete the production and business tasks in 2026.
