Speaking at the conference, Mr. Le An Hai - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman of the Vietnam Industry and Trade Union - said that in the context of many economic difficulties, trade union levels have focused on caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers through many practical programs such as "Trade Union Homes", "Trade Union Meals", periodic health check-ups, visits and support for union members in difficult circumstances.
On the occasion of the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Vietnam Trade Union of Industry and Trade presented gifts in cash and in kind with a total value of nearly 2 billion VND to workers in difficult circumstances and workers working throughout Tet.

In Workers' Month 2026, the trade union organization supported the construction of 7 "Trade Union Homes", and presented gifts to 81 union members in difficult circumstances. The entire industry has 180 units organizing the "Thank you to workers" program, bringing benefits to more than 116,000 union members and workers. Nearly 6,900 union members in difficult circumstances were supported with a total budget of nearly 55 billion VND.
In addition, nearly 50,000 union members were examined and consulted on health; more than 11,000 people participated in cultural and sports activities; many vocational skills and digital skills training programs were implemented to help workers adapt to digital transformation requirements.

Along with care work, the patriotic emulation movement continues to be promoted with the movements "Good labor, creative labor", "Promoting initiatives, technical improvements", "Green - clean - beautiful, ensuring labor safety and hygiene"... Thousands of initiatives are applied in practice, bringing benefits of tens of billions of VND to businesses.
At the conference, the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade commended and rewarded many collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing Resolution No. 02 of the Politburo, Workers' Month, Action Month on Occupational Safety and Health and emulation movements.

In the last 6 months of 2026, the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade continues to innovate the content and methods of operation in the direction of putting union members and workers at the center; improving the effectiveness of welfare programs, developing union members, building strong trade union organizations and spreading emulation movements associated with improving productivity, quality, and production and business efficiency.
