On May 10, the Trade Union of 3 wards Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu and Hai Van of Da Nang city organized the launching ceremony of "Workers' Month 2026" and the opening of the Running Race named "Workers' Month - Solidarity Run 2026" at the connecting road to Lien Chieu Port (Hai Van ward, Da Nang city).
The race attracted more than 300 trade union members, workers, civil servants and laborers to participate.
This is an event in a series of practical activities to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and respond to Workers' Month 2026.
In particular, the race has the participation of track and field athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuc, the Vietnamese Marching Queen, the inspirational figure of the program.
Mr. Le Trong Nguyen - Member of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, Party Committee member, Chairman of Lien Chieu Ward Trade Union, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, said: May every year has become a big festival for the Trade Union organization and workers.
However, "Workers' Month" is not only an opportunity for us to honor the great contributions of the labor force to the socio-economic development of Da Nang city, but also a peak period for Party committees, authorities, mass organizations and the whole society to join hands in caring for and protecting legitimate and lawful rights, improving the material and spiritual life of workers" - Mr. Nguyen said.
Deeply aware of that meaning, this year, the Workers' Month series of activities is organized by three wards Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu and Hai Van with many innovations, practicality and more cohesion. And the "Workers' Month - Solidarity Run 2026" running tournament is the proud opening highlight for this series of activities.
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh once called out: "Each weak citizen means the whole country is weak, each healthy citizen means the whole country is healthy... When the people are strong, the nation is prosperous".
Therefore, the presence of nearly 300 athletes who are typical trade union members from the three wards today is the clearest proof of the sportsmanship and will to improve health of the team of workers and employees.
