THÀNH AN |

Trade unions at all levels have stepped in, accompanying and supporting the female worker whose house caught fire, helping her family overcome the immediate difficulties.

Unexpectedly caught in a situation of loss

The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's area management working group No. 5 and the Ba Ria Ward Trade Union and the Hoa Hanh Trading Company Limited Trade Union (Hoa Hanh Company) visited and encouraged the family of female worker Trinh Thi Anh (born in 1986, residing in Long Huong Ward, Ho Chi Minh City) after a serious fire incident that occurred on the evening of August 5.

Ms. Anh is a shoe team worker at Hoa Hanh Trading Company Limited, while her husband works as a car repairman. The family rented a townhouse with a central hall for her husband to work and her family to live in, but the fire broke out and destroyed everything.

"That evening, the whole family had just passed by a branch house a few hundred meters away, when they received a report that there was a lot of black smoke in the house. quickly returning, we could only helplessly watch the fire destroy all our assets. The whole family was left penniless, with nothing left but clothes on their bodies, including personal papers, property..." - Ms. Anh said.

At the time of the fire, there were 6 motorbikes and 1 electric motorbike in the shop that had not been taken yet. Ms. Anh's husband only had time to break the door, pull a motorbike out, and everything was gone, including the house. The children's clothes and books (this year in grade 8 and grade 1) were all burned down.

"Only the spare parts and machinery are worth about 50 million VND; the customer's vehicles are estimated at over 100 million VND; the rented house has a construction cost of about 120 million VND, and there are only iron frames with sharp edges... Currently, the family is living with a branch of the family" - Ms. Anh said.

According to Ms. Anh, currently, vehicle owners and homeowners are sympathetic to the family's situation, so they have not yet asked for compensation for property, creating conditions for the family to stabilize their lives first.

Warm affection for the Trade Union, neighborhood affection

Ms. Pham Thu Huong - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - in charge of the Area Management Working Group No. 5 - visited and encouraged Ms. Anh and her family to quickly stabilize and overcome the difficult and loss period.

"The incidents that happened and the losses are something that no one wants, I hope that the support of the Union will somewhat encourage and support the family to overcome the current difficult period" - Ms. Huong said.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation presented Ms. Anh's family with 10 million VND to help the family overcome some of the damage, stabilize their lives and especially for the two children to continue going to school.

In addition, the Board of Directors of Hoa Hanh Company and the grassroots Trade Union supported Ms. Anh and her family with 12 million VND and some new clothes.

Ms. Khuat Le Hoang Giang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Hoa Hanh Company - said that in addition to financial and material support, the company also temporarily let Ms. Anh take a leave of absence to resolve the matter. At the same time, the company is also mobilizing all union members and workers to contribute voluntarily to share and accompany the loss of union member Trinh Thi Anh.

"When the incident happened, I felt shocked, like I had lost everything. After that, with the attention of the Union, the locality and the neighbors... I felt loved, shared, encouraged and comforted. This is a great motivation for the family to try to recover their lives and take care of the children" - Ms. Anh said.

On this occasion, the Party Committee and government of Long Huong commune, Tan Hung hamlet (where Ms. Anh's family lives) also visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to support the family to overcome difficulties and quickly stabilize their lives.
