In 2025, in Hai Phong, the number of people applying for unemployment benefits will be 27,823 people, down 13.84% over the same period.

According to the Employment Service Center (Hai Phong City Department of Home Affairs), in 2025, the whole city will have 27,823 people applying for unemployment benefits, down 13.84% over the same period.

The number of people with decisions to receive unemployment benefits is 26,072, down 17.68%. 1,069 people temporarily suspended from unemployment benefits, down 12.73%; 319 people continue to receive benefits, down 16.71% over the same period. The center also completed procedures to terminate unemployment benefits for 28,438 people, down 20.02%. The amount of unemployment benefits paid in 2025 is 797.1 billion VND, down 4.21% over the same period. In November alone, more than 2,000 workers submitted applications for unemployment benefits, down 13.87%; number of people with unemployment benefit decisions: 1,901 people, down 26.86%; unemployment benefit payment of VND59.79 billion, down 15.74% over the same period.

The fact that the number of people applying for unemployment insurance has decreased compared to the same period shows a positive signal from the labor market. Many businesses have stable production, increased orders, higher recruitment demand; workers have more job opportunities.

According to statistics from the Employment Service Center (Hai Phong City Department of Home Affairs), in 2025, nearly 1,700 businesses registered to participate in job fairs organized by the unit with a total recruitment demand of nearly 406,000 workers; of which female workers are 186,426 workers (accounting for 46% of the total recruitment positions). The demand for labor recruitment increased by 223% over the same period, of which the majority were unskilled workers (nearly 360,000 people), the rest were workers with elementary to university degrees. Thanks to that, many unemployed workers have found new jobs earlier or moved to the informal work area, creating jobs for themselves, without having to extend the subsidy period.

Along with resolving unemployment insurance policies, the Employment Service Center implements vocational training policy consultation for 20,000 workers receiving unemployment benefits. At the same time, introduce to vocational training institutions to open 58 vocational training classes for 1,000 students in the following subjects: Chinese, Korean, English, cargo handling; beverage mixing techniques, office IT, acupressure massage - physical therapy, food processing techniques, mixing techniques, 137% compared to the same period. Thereby, helping employees gain more professional skills, become more confident when returning to the labor market, and find a suitable job for themselves.

During the year, the Center organized 114 job fairs, including 70 periodic job fairs at the center, 36 online fairs, 2 mobile fairs and 6 job fairs and career counseling in communes, wards and some schools in the area.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh - Head of the Department of Employment Consulting and Introduction - Labor Market Information, Employment Service Center - said that in 2025, the number of shifting workers between localities will increase sharply, the trend of finding jobs through online channels such as Facebook, TikTok will become popular, especially in the age group from 18-35 (accounting for 70% of the shifting workforce). Therefore, the Center researched and applied digital transformation in job consulting and introduction, notably 36 online job fairs, attracting tens of thousands of workers.
