Improving the quality of agreements after each signing
KORG Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Japan Industrial Park - Hai Phong) has just re-signed the Collective Labor Agreement (CLA) with many provisions that are more beneficial to employees and higher than the initial CLA signed. Typically, for shift meals, the company stipulates the main shift meal rate of 30,000 VND/meal; the shift meal rate for overtime work ranges from 24,000 - 30,000 VND/meal; the shift meal rate for night shift work is 38,000 VND/meal.
Some subsidies have also been improved such as travel allowance of 400,000 - 700,000 VND/month, childcare allowance (under 6 years old) of 100,000 VND/child, noise allowance of 500,000 VND/person...
The company also builds a bonus mechanism for employees, clearly stated in the Collective Labor Agreement. Accordingly, employees who comply with the company's regulations will be rewarded with VND 300,000/person/month, employees who have worked for 12 months will be rewarded with at least one month's salary in the 13th month according to the labor contract and allowances (if any)... With the above provisions, the Collective Labor Agreement was approved by 408/411 employees of the company, reaching a rate of 99.3%.
Recently, Fujikura composites Hai Phong Company Limited (Japan Industrial Park - Hai Phong) also re-signed the Collective Labor Agreement with provisions that are beneficial to employees such as travel allowance of 400,000 VND/person/month; tuition fees of 150,000 VND/person/month. Employees are given a mid-working break of 60 minutes for administrative shifts, 50 minutes/session for shift workers; 10-20 minutes/session/shift are taken off work, including working time. Female workers are given 60 minutes of rest per day during pregnancy from the 7th month to the 12th month of pregnancy...
According to the representative of the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union, in the first quarter of 2025, 10 enterprises newly signed and re-signed the Collective Labor Agreement, bringing the total number of enterprises eligible to sign the Collective Labor Agreement in the entire economic zone to 253 units, reaching 73.3%. The quality of the CLAs has been significantly improved with each signing. According to statistics up to this point, the number of type A collective labor agreements has reached 45%, type B has reached 35.3%.
Striving to successfully sign 2 agreements with many enterprises
According to the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union, thanks to good implementation of democratic regulations, negotiation and signing of the Collective Labor Agreement, in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, the entire economic zone will not have any collective work stoppages. The average income of employees is 11.59 million VND/person/month, of which the employee's income is 8.5 million VND/month.
The welfare policies for employees have been improved, such as the average shift meal for employees in industrial parks at VND29,000/person/meal (higher than the city average of VND27,000/meal). 100% of enterprises give Tet bonuses to employees with an average of 1.15 months' salary/person.
From now until the end of 2025, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union will continue to strengthen the work of grasping the thoughts and aspirations of union members and employees; providing general information on the policies of each industrial park to support grassroots trade unions in dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements. The goal is to complete the target by 2025 with at least 60% of collective labor agreements achieving type B or higher.
In the immediate future, in the second quarter of 2025, the Hai Phong Economic Zone Trade Union will implement the negotiation steps of the Collective Labor Agreement for many An Duong Industrial Park enterprises and the Collective Labor Agreement for many Korean enterprises in phase 4. Along with that, organize specialized training courses, fostering and coaching on dialogue, negotiation, and signing of collective labor agreements for grassroots union officials, focusing on negotiating salaries, income, working conditions, and shift meals.
