Ms. Nguyen Thi Man - a worker at TMVW Production Company Limited (Hiep Hoa district) is in a very difficult situation. She is a single mother raising her child alone (this year she is in high school). She also had to raise her sick and disabled mother; her younger sister suffered from Agent Orange. Having worked as a worker for nearly 15 years, her total income is about 6-7 million VND/month; if she works part-time, she can earn about 8 million VND/month.
Receiving the gift during Workers' Month, this 43-year-old female worker was very touched: "Although the gift is not large, I feel the attention of the Trade Union organization. I was motivated, overcame difficulties, worked more effectively, and took better care of my family.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thao - Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union said that during Workers' Month, 13 workers in difficulty at the unit received gifts. The workers were all very touched and thanked the Trade Union for their attention.
According to the Hiep Hoa District Labor Federation, during the Workers' Month, the unit selected and proposed that the Provincial Labor Federation give gifts to 50 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, who have had work accidents, occupational diseases, and poor health insurance, each gift worth 800,000 VND. The District Labor Federation awarded funding to support house building from the Provincial Trade Union Shelter Fund to 1 union member in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of 40 million VND; Reviewed and guided 3 union members to complete the application for the Trade Union Shelter Fund to support loans for economic development with a total amount of 60 million VND.
Mr. Ngo Quang Tuan - Chairman of Hiep Hoa District Labor Federation - informed that the activities during Workers' Month have contributed to sharing with workers in difficult circumstances, encouraging them to continue to strive to improve their lives.
The diverse activities during Workers' Month have also created a useful playground for union members and workers, especially after hard and tiring working days; encouraging workers with spirit and motivation to continue to strive, complete tasks well, and accompany businesses in development - Mr. Tuan said.
