In the past time, a number of new models in care have been formed, achieving positive and typical results such as "Trade Union Meal" (through 2 years of organization, more than 20,000 grassroots trade unions have organized "Trade Union Meal" with the participation of more than 5 million union members); "Trade Union Year-End Meal" (more than 15,000 grassroots trade unions organized Trade Union Year-End Meal during the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026).
Workers, civil servants, and laborers have more than 383.830 initiatives
The emulation movement among workers, civil servants, and laborers has been widely deployed, attracting a large number of participants with more than 383.830 initiatives, making a profit of over 40,000 billion VND, contributing to promoting socio-economic development.
Emulation movements in the trade union continue to be concretized and widely deployed, creating motivation for innovation and creativity, improving operational efficiency. Union members and workers actively respond to movements launched by the Prime Minister, especially on infrastructure development, thrift, anti-wastefulness and digital transformation, thereby affirming the role of the Trade Union in the key tasks of the country.
The work of discovering and honoring advanced examples has been promoted; many models and initiatives from the grassroots level have been replicated in a timely manner. The commendation process continues to be improved; the rate of commendation for direct workers has reached more than 35%, exceeding the target, clearly showing the orientation towards the grassroots level, taking workers as the center.
The whole country has developed over 2.2 million new union members.
Developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions is identified as a key task, implemented with many breakthrough solutions. Despite difficulties, the whole country has admitted more than 2.2 million union members and established over 15,000 new grassroots trade unions and professional unions.
The work of building strong grassroots trade unions has been concerned, gradually becoming more substantive, focusing on key, core, and practical activities, attracting the participation of a large number of union members and workers. The activities of the executive committee, inspection committee, and trade union groups in all types of enterprises have gradually become systematic, contributing to improving the quality of trade union activities at the grassroots level.
According to the VGCL, the training and fostering of trade union officials at all levels continues to be concerned, gradually meeting the requirements in the context of increasingly complex and diverse labor relations, contributing to improving skills and professional skills for trade union officials at all levels, especially grassroots trade union presidents.
On the occasion of the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1, 1886 - May 1, 2026), the VGCL will organize a parade with the participation of 1,000 workers. The parade is expected to depart at 8 am on April 28 from the Tran Nhan Tong - Tran Binh Trong route to the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Labor Culture Palace (Hanoi). Participating in the parade are trade union members and typical workers from many industries and fields. The parade blocks will show the spirit of solidarity, discipline, creativity and aspiration to rise up of workers in the new era. Through this activity, the VGCL wishes to spread the message about building a modern and strong working class; and at the same time affirm the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of union members and workers.
After that, the 140th anniversary of International Labor Day and commendation of outstanding grassroots trade union presidents in collective dialogue and negotiation work in 2026 will take place.
