At the recent meeting and dialogue between provincial leaders and union members and workers, many civil servants and public employees expressed concern about having to travel a longer distance to the workplace after the administrative units are merged, especially those who have to work at the new Administrative Center in Thuy Nguyen (Hai Phong).
Receiving feedback, the Department of Construction has proposed 3 options for organizing travel for cadres and civil servants from Hai Duong province to Hai Phong city. Option 1 is to use a train from Hai Duong City to Thuong Ly Station (Hai Phong), then travel by car to Thuy Nguyen Administrative Center, with an estimated cost of 2. 2-3 million VND/person/month.
Option 2 is to build a fixed bus route connecting Hai Duong - Thuy Nguyen - Hai Phong, with an estimated cost of about 1.8 million VND/person/month. Option 3 is a car contract along National Highway 5, National Highway 17B or Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway, the cost is equivalent to option 2.
Regarding housing, the provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to coordinate with Hai Phong City to review the social housing fund and public houses to serve the needs of cadres and civil servants. Preliminary results show that it is now possible to partially meet the demand for housing in the vicinity of Thuy Nguyen administrative center. The Department of Finance is developing a specific funding support plan, submitting to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration in the coming time.
Supporting travel and stabilizing housing are important factors to help cadres feel secure in their work, especially in the context of the new government organization model gradually operating after the merger. The Hai Duong provincial government is committed to continuing to listen and carefully review the actual situation to make appropriate and effective decisions.
