The national scientific conference with the theme: "Green tourism in Vietnam in the context of global climate change: current situation and solutions" was organized to enhance academic exchanges, share professional experiences, promote cooperation with schools, agencies and businesses to develop training activities.
Global climate change is no longer a distant prediction, but is present clearly, having a profound impact on all aspects of life, economy - society and especially the tourism industry. With the characteristics of great dependence on natural conditions, landscapes and ecosystems, the Vietnamese tourism industry is facing many major challenges: environmental degradation, ecological imbalance, tourism resource crisis and increased risks from natural disasters and epidemics.
In that context, green tourism is not only a trend but also an inevitable requirement, a strategic direction to ensure sustainable tourism development. Developing green tourism requires changes in planning thinking, in tourist consumption behavior, in business governance models and especially policy adjustments at the macro level. At the same time, it needs the support of science, technology and education in spreading knowledge, improving adaptability and green transformation for the whole industry.
