Hanoi On May 14, the Trade Union University organized a national scientific conference on green tourism in Vietnam.

The national scientific conference with the theme: "Green tourism in Vietnam in the context of global climate change: current situation and solutions" was organized to enhance academic exchanges, share professional experiences, promote cooperation with schools, agencies and businesses to develop training activities.

Global climate change is no longer a distant prediction, but is present clearly, having a profound impact on all aspects of life, economy - society and especially the tourism industry. With the characteristics of great dependence on natural conditions, landscapes and ecosystems, the Vietnamese tourism industry is facing many major challenges: environmental degradation, ecological imbalance, tourism resource crisis and increased risks from natural disasters and epidemics.

In that context, green tourism is not only a trend but also an inevitable requirement, a strategic direction to ensure sustainable tourism development. Developing green tourism requires changes in planning thinking, in tourist consumption behavior, in business governance models and especially policy adjustments at the macro level. At the same time, it needs the support of science, technology and education in spreading knowledge, improving adaptability and green transformation for the whole industry.

In his opening speech, Associate Professor, Dr. Le Manh Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Principal of the Trade Union University said that the Organizing Committee of the Workshop received 170 presentations nationwide and selected 93 papers with high scientific content to publish the Workshop Yearbook.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Manh Hung emphasized that the Workshop was organized to create an academic forum to summarize practices, update the theoretical basis on green tourism development; assess the impact of climate change on tourism models in Vietnam; propose comprehensive solutions on policies, technology, human resources and inter-sectoral coordination to move towards sustainable development goals.
