According to Ms. Hanh, what impressed her of Workers' Month 2026 in Da Nang is not only the gifts or free shopping vouchers but also a series of practical activities such as health check-ups, legal advice, sports festivals, and cultural programs for workers.
These activities have helped the Trade Union become closer to workers like us" - she said. This year's Workers' Month is being implemented on a large scale by the Trade Union levels of Da Nang city, strongly focusing on grassroots levels.
Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of Da Nang City Labor Federation - said: most grassroots trade unions organize care activities, with more than 100,000 union members and workers benefiting. The "Grateful to Workers" Program alone has 14,535 union members and workers benefiting; 7,667 difficult cases are supported; more than 10,800 people have periodic health check-ups; 108 "Trade Union Meals" are organized with nearly 10,000 workers participating.
On this occasion, the City Labor Federation also supported 1,000 union members and workers in difficult circumstances, who suffered from labor accidents, occupational diseases, critical illnesses, natural disasters, and fires with a level of 1 million VND/person. The mobile worker fair issued 2 0,000 free shopping vouchers, gathering 50 booths with discounts from 10-50%, attracting tens of thousands of union members and workers to shop.
The spiritual life of workers is also concerned through many rich activities. The city's sports festival for workers, civil servants, and laborers is organized for the first time with a scale of 115 delegations, 2,444 athletes participating in 5 sports. Many grassroots trade unions also organize family festivals, teambuilding, "Gratitude Day for union members", "Trade Union Meals", contributing to creating cohesion between workers and businesses.
Caring for workers to feel secure in contributing
Not stopping at welfare activities, this year's Workers' Month in Da Nang also created a forum for workers to directly express their thoughts and aspirations. Through 98 dialogues and 39 forums, more than 6,200 union members and workers participated in contributing 425 opinions and recommendations related to regimes, policies, housing, employment, training, working conditions and building trade union organizations. Of which, 421 recommendations have been resolved or answered, only 4 contents are still being processed.
During Workers' Month, city-level Trade Unions admitted 3,119 new union members, established 49 grassroots trade unions, and introduced 137 outstanding union members for the Party to consider admitting.
In particular, many businesses have coordinated with the Trade Union to improve working conditions, improve the quality of meals, increase overtime support, exempt tuition fees for union members' children or supplement other welfare regimes.
Taking care of workers is not only about material support but also towards improving spiritual life, protecting legitimate rights, creating a safe and stable working environment for workers to feel secure in sticking with businesses. This is also a foundation to contribute to building harmonious and stable labor relations and promoting the sustainable development of businesses as well as the city" - Mr. Le Van Dai said.
