More than 237,000 miners are on leave
Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Presidium of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Coal and Mineral Industries Group (TKV) - said that in the period of 2023-2025, units in the TKV Trade Union have coordinated with specialized agencies to develop a Joint Plan to organize 237,535 workers to go on sightseeing and vacations. Of which, there were 224,302 domestic trips; 13,233 trips abroad; 40,105 people were given money to organize their own vacations; 3,063 worker families were organized to go on vacations (4 people/family). The total amount of money that the units have spent on employees for sightseeing and vacations is more than 1,375 billion VND, of which the trade union source is 25.3 billion VND.
The units have organized for employees with seniority in work, poor health, employees recovering after work, declining health, the total number of employees going to nursing homes is 23,840, the total amount is 120.1 billion VND. In 2023, TKV Trade Union supported 5,766 people to go to nursing homes at industry centers with an amount of VND 2.94 billion. In 2025, TKV Trade Union will organize a nursing program for 2,480 workers with poor health from 48 units with an amount of VND4.25 billion.
From October 17 to November 17, the Trade Union of Thong Nhat Coal Company coordinated to organize 312 long-time miners to visit and relax in Sa Pa (5 groups) and Cat Ba (2 groups). After many days of hard work on the ground, the trip was an opportunity for miners and their families to rest, relax, and repair their labor, while also strengthening the affection between members of Than Thong Nhat's family.
Tour groups are organized thoughtfully and safely, with many attractive destinations. In Sapa (Lao Cai), groups will explore the majestic beauty of the Northwest mountains and forests, visit Fansipan - the "roof of Indochina", experience unique indigenous culture and enjoy highland cuisine. Meanwhile, in Cat Ba (Hai Phong), the fresh sea air, peaceful waves and beautiful beaches brought the members memorable moments of relaxation.
Mr. Mac Duc Khai - Exploitation workshop 7 - a miner who has been involved in the mining profession for 19 years, shared: "The company is interested in organizing such a vacation for workers who have worked directly for over 15 years, we are very happy and moved. This is a great source of spiritual encouragement for the brothers and sisters to love their profession and stay with the unit for a long time".
Implementing grassroots democracy regulations well
In recent times, the Group and its units have seriously implemented the work of receiving citizens, union members and employees in accordance with the Law on Receiving Citizens, the Law on Complaints, the Law on Reprimand, and improved the effectiveness of legal consultation for employees. Thereby, there were 1,265 meetings with people, union members, and employees, receiving and responding to 1,410 opinions of employees.
The TKV Trade Union Legal Consulting Office and the legal consulting departments of the units have consulted and disseminated the law to 38,884 employees.
Along with that, TKV Trade Union has organized a survey to collect employees' opinions through 68,240 questionnaires on issues that employees are interested in such as implementing policies, working conditions, accommodation, travel, arrangement in collective housing areas, rental, demand for social housing, etc.
TKV Trade Union has participated in the professional development of a salary scale and salary table system. Adjust to increase the industry's minimum wage from 6.2 million VND to 7.2 million VND in 2024; regulate support for employees with children of childcare and kindergarten age.
Through the coordination in implementing grassroots democracy regulations, trade unions at all levels have demonstrated their role in representing and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of employees and participating in management, contributing to building harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in enterprises - Mr. Le Thanh Xuan said.
