Mr. Le Thanh Xuan - Member of the Standing Committee of the VGCL, Chairman of the Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Trade Union (TKV), implementing Resolution No. 02-NQ/TW, dated June 12, 2021 of the Politburo on "Innovating the organization and operation of the Vietnam Trade Union in the new situation", trade union levels of TKV have actively participated in building and perfecting policies and laws to ensure the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers; developing diverse and effective activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers.
Every year, the TKV Trade Union, together with specialized agencies, directs units to organize employee conferences at all levels.
Agreed to build a collective labor agreement of TKV Group with 12 points that are more beneficial to employees than the provisions of law. TKV Trade Union has developed guidelines for evaluating and ranking the quality of collective bargaining, signing and implementing collective labor agreements of the parent company and affiliated units and implementing scoring and ranking according to A, B, C.
In 5 years (2021-2025), units directly under the group organized 169 grassroots-level employee conferences, more than 4,400 worker conferences at the construction site, workshop, department level, trade union levels coordinated to organize dialogues at the workplace, there were 790 dialogues, with 66,868 employees participating, resolving 7,005 opinions and recommendations. Organized a group-level miner forum, dialogues between group leaders and 300 employees of underground coal mining units. Annually participate in meetings with voters of coal industry workers with the Quang Ninh Provincial National Assembly Delegation and dialogues with the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary on Workers' Month.
The Group and units seriously implement the reception of citizens and union members and employees in accordance with the Law on Citizen Reception, Law on Complaints, Law on Denunciations, improving the effectiveness of legal advice for employees.
Organize surveys to gather workers' opinions through 68,240 questionnaires on issues of concern to workers: implementation of policies, working conditions, accommodation and travel, arrangement in collective housing areas, rent, need to buy social housing...
In the period 2021-2025, trade unions of units have coordinated with specialized agencies to develop a Joint Plan to organize 352,436 sightseeing and vacation trips, including more than 239,000 domestic trips; 13,233 overseas trips; 40,105 people were given money to self-organize sightseeing and vacation trips; there were 3,663 worker families organized sightseeing and vacation trips (4 people/family).
The total amount of money units have spent on workers to go sightseeing and vacation is more than 1,375 billion VND, of which the trade union source is 25.3 billion VND.
The units organized for workers with seniority, weak health, workers recovering from work accidents, health impairments, the total number of workers going for convalescence was 23,840 turns, with a total amount of 120.1 billion VND. The units organized 405,738 turns of people to have periodic health check-ups, of which 60,836 turns were additional specialist check-ups, pre-cancer check-ups.
The Coal - Mineral Hospital performs the task of treating diseases for workers in the industry, in 5 years, 1,469 qualified workers were treated for lung washing at the Coal - Mineral Hospital, with a total amount of 78.2 billion VND.
The Group agreed to include in the collective labor agreement maintaining a quantitative meal level of 65,000 VND/portion and a shift meal level of 730,000 VND/month after the state abolished special meal and shift meal regimes.
In addition to organizing quantitative meals, units pay attention to hazardous nutritional regimes, underground units arrange for workers to drink cool water when leaving the kiln at the end of the production shift; open-pit, mechanical, and ground units serve cool water at mining sites and factories for workers.
TKV Trade Union deploys trade union meals throughout the industry during Workers' Month and Trade Union Month. The total number of union members attending trade union meals is 137,709, with a total value of over 22.1 billion VND.
Trade union levels have organized visits to workers in difficult circumstances, sick and hospitalized, and families of workers with funerals and weddings, and in 5 years, they have supported 69,040 people with an amount of 171.9 billion VND.
