Supporting workers in special difficulties
In Dong Phu commune, Dong Nai province, Freewell Company Limited is one of the enterprises with the largest number of workers in Bac Dong Phu Industrial Park. This FDI-invested enterprise specializes in the production of leather shoes for export with over 6,000 workers. This is also a business with a typical grassroots trade union with many activities to care for workers.
During the Workers' Month 2025, the Trade Union of Freewell Company Limited organized a program to visit and give gifts to 73 union members and workers who have had work-related accidents, occupational diseases, serious illnesses and are in especially difficult circumstances. The unit has provided 10 million VND in support to 1 union member with a serious illness, supported 2 union members in especially difficult circumstances (each 5 million VND); 70 other union members, each 1 million VND.
In cases where workers have unfortunately suffered accidents or serious illnesses and are in especially difficult circumstances, the Trade Union has mobilized support with large sums of money, including the case of union member Pham Lan (name changed). At the end of 2024, Ms. Lan unfortunately had a traffic accident, the large hospital fee pushed her family into a difficult situation.
Understanding the difficult circumstances of union members, the grassroots union organized a donation to support. After a short time, union members, the company and donors have raised 82.2 million VND to support Ms. Lan. Of which, the company's Trade Union alone supported 10 million VND. Up to now, Ms. Lan's life has gradually stabilized.
Recently, in July 2025, the grassroots union continued to review and have a support program for 2 union members facing difficulties in life. The union members who received support were Ms. Mai Thi Le Hien and Mr. Tran Thai San. The representative of the Company's Trade Union kindly asked about the health of the two union members and gave the two union members 15 million VND in support.
It is not only material support but also shows the sharing and companionship of the Trade Union organization for workers in difficult and disadvantaged times - Mr. Le Mong Hoang - Chairman of the Trade Union of Freewell Company Limited shared.
Giving gold to employees, welfare for union members' children
In 2025, the Trade Union has recommended that the company continue to implement welfare policies for employees attached to the enterprise. The unit has coordinated with the company's board of directors to give each person 1 tael of 24K gold to 913 employees with 10 years of seniority and 1.5 taels of 24K gold to 4 employees with 20 years of seniority at the company.
Mr. Le Mong Hoang - Chairman of the company's Trade Union - said that this is an activity to encourage, motivate, and thank employees for their contributions and gifts to the company's development over the past time. The employees who help the company develop are also entitled to a worthy welfare regime.
In addition to taking care of workers, the Trade Union also recommended that the company's board of directors implement welfare policies for workers' children. On the occasion of International Children's Day, the Trade Union spent 788.5 million VND to give gifts to 7,885 children of union members.
Notably, on July 20, the Trade Union launched a program to train skills to prevent drowning and injury for children of union members and workers. The program is organized free of charge, aiming to equip children of workers with skills to prevent drowning and to protect themselves from safety. About 150 students who are children of workers participated in the program and were trained in swimming and escape skills.
According to the Trade Union of Freewell Company Limited, the summer comes with childhood joys but also has many potential risks, especially drowning accidents. The safety of children is one of the major concerns for parents who are workers. Therefore, the above activity aims to join hands to protect the safety of children and practically care for the lives of children of union members.
