Ha Tinh resettles 1,279 households when building a high-speed railway

Ha Tinh - The high-speed railway project on the North-South axis through this locality will affect more than 2,000 households, of which 1,279 households will be relocated and resettled.

On the morning of July 22, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ha Tinh held a press conference to provide information on the North-South high-speed railway project through Ha Tinh, the Vu Quang National Park Eco-tourism, Resort and Entertainment Project and the 9th Pencak Silat Asian Championship in 2025.

At the press conference, representatives of Vu Quang National Park provided information about the area, biodiversity, and beauty with many advantages here for exploiting eco-tourism, resorts, and entertainment.

The leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism informed about the 9th Pencak Silat Asian Championship in 2025 taking place in Ha Tinh province from July 24 to July 31.

Mr. Le Anh Son - Deputy Director of the Ha Tinh Department of Construction quickly reported on the North-South high-speed railway project through Ha Tinh.

Accordingly, the total length passing through Ha Tinh is 103km, passing through 18 communes and 5 wards; arranging 2 passenger stations and 1 cargo station.

In particular, Ha Tinh passenger station is located in Ha Huy Tap ward (old Thach Dai commune), about 500m west of National Highway 1. Vung Ang Passenger Station is located in Song Tri Ward (old Ky Hoa Commune), about 100m west of National Highway 1, Ky Anh Town bypass; Vung Ang Cargo Station is located in Song Tri Ward (old Ky Hoa Commune), near the passenger station.

In Ha Tinh, there are 3 maintenance stations: 1 station in Viet Xuyen commune (old Viet Tien commune), 1 station in Cam Lac commune (old Cam Lac commune) and 1 station in Ky Hoa commune (old Ky Tan commune)

According to the schedule, localities will complete site clearance in December 2026 to implement construction.

It is expected to affect 2,000 households, of which about 1,279 households must be resettled; build 35 resettlement areas with a total area of about 87.4 hectares, estimated cost of about 1,100 billion VND.

On August 19, Ha Tinh will deploy the construction of the first resettlement area in Ha Huy Tap ward. By October 2025, the construction of the remaining resettlement areas will be simultaneously implemented.

At the press conference, many journalists and reporters asked questions related to the 3 contents of the information provided.

In particular, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper asked whether there is a situation in Ha Tinh where people are building construction works to receive compensation for high-speed railway projects on the North - South axis, if so, what solutions are there to prevent this situation?

Mr. Le Anh Son - Deputy Director of the Ha Tinh Department of Construction replied that currently, Ha Tinh has not yet implemented the site clearance milestones for the high-speed railway project. Only now have localities been notified of the preliminary corridor of the site clearance scope.

Currently, no people have been found building works to receive compensation for the project.

"To prevent people from constructing works to receive compensation, localities have proactively recorded the current status of houses and works so that the authorities will compare them later. If illegal construction is discovered, compensation will be refused according to regulations," Mr. Son shared.

Reporters from Lao Dong Newspaper also asked whether there are currently any businesses or investors interested in, willing to invest in, exploit eco-tourism, resorts, and entertainment in Vu Quang National Park or not?

Mr. Nguyen Danh Ky - Director of Vu Quang National Park replied that many investors praise this place for its beauty and promisingness to exploit tourism. There are 3 large enterprises that are really interested and want to invest. They have come to survey many times and promised to invest in tourism exploitation here.
