At about 10:40 a.m. on July 23, at Km67+970 National Highway 8 through Son Kim 1 Commune (Ha Tinh Province), a traffic accident occurred between two tractor-trailers traveling in the opposite direction.
According to initial information, the tractor trailer with Lao license plate UN-42xx towing a trailer UN-38xx carrying ore, moving from Cau Treo International Border Gate to the inland area. When arriving at the above location, this vehicle collided with a tractor trailer with license plate 37H-104xx pulling a trailer 37R-044xx, traveling in the opposite direction.
The strong collision caused the Lao- plastered tractor to burn many wheels, while the Nghe An-plastered tractor was severely damaged at the front, the cabin almost left the frame. The driver of car 37H-104.xx was seriously injured and taken to the emergency room immediately.
Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of Ha Tinh Province Police coordinated with the Traffic Police Department and Huong Son District Police to be present at the scene to put out the fire, rescue, direct traffic and investigate the cause of the accident.
By 11:30 a.m. the same day, the road through the accident area had been opened to traffic, and vehicles getting in and out of the border gate could circulate normally.
