Binh Duong area gathers 42 men's football teams with more than 750 athletes from commune and ward trade unions, grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) of units and businesses in Binh Duong province in the past.
Attending the opening program were Mr. Bui Thanh Nhan - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Ms. Nguyen Kim Loan - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, along with representatives of grassroots trade unions and hundreds of athletes.
The Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation said that the organizers divided 42 teams into 8 groups. The teams competed in a round-robin format, to select 2 teams from each group with the best results to compete in the round of 16. Next, 8 winning teams will enter the quarter-finals to select 4 teams to enter the semi-finals. The teams will compete on Sunday, the final match and award ceremony are expected to take place on June 21.
According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, the tournament practically achieves achievements to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2026); celebrate the success of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 – 2031; towards celebrating the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union, term 2026 – 2031.
Through the football tournament, creating a useful playground and promoting the movement of physical exercise and sports training among workers, civil servants, and laborers in the city. At the same time, selecting excellent football teams to participate in the final round will be held in July 2026.
