Health check-ups for nearly 1.38 million workers during Workers' Month

Ho Chi Minh City - During Workers' Month 2026, trade union levels organized health check-ups for nearly 1.38 million union members and workers.

73,140 initiatives and solutions to improve working conditions and prevent labor accidents

On the afternoon of June 21, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour organized a conference to summarize Workers' Month - Action Month on occupational safety and health in 2026. Attending the conference were Member of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Anh Tuan and Vice Presidents of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, members of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour...

Reports at the conference stated that during Workers' Month - Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health in 2026, trade union levels organized 14,197 dialogues and forums with the participation of over 1 million union members and workers; received 20,742 opinions and recommendations; coordinated to resolve 18,413 recommendations; and 1,983 recommendations are still being coordinated to resolve.

The proposed content focuses on groups of issues such as: employment, wages, income; housing and workers' lives; social insurance, health insurance, health care; training, improving skills; occupational safety and health; security, social order and solutions to support businesses to develop production and business.

Many recommendations have been received and resolved promptly by employers, functional agencies and local authorities; contents related to mechanisms and policies continue to be summarized and proposed to competent authorities for consideration and handling.

Trade union levels have proposed and coordinated with employers to organize the "Thank you workers" program at 6,265 units, with more than 820,240 turns of union members and workers benefiting; supported and visited nearly 282,000 turns of union members and workers; organized health check-ups for nearly 1.38 million union members and workers, legal advice, social insurance and health insurance advice; supported the construction and repair of "Trade Union Shelter" houses.

Along with that, 6,186 workers and relatives of workers who suffered labor accidents and occupational diseases were visited and supported with a total budget of over 25 billion VND.

The movement "Good Labor, Creative Labor" continues to be promoted, with many initiatives and solutions being effectively applied in practice, contributing to improving productivity, quality, and production and business efficiency. There are 20,017 grassroots trade unions organizing response activities with more than 2.19 million workers participating, recording 73,140 initiatives and solutions to improve working conditions and prevent work accidents and occupational diseases.

In Workers' Month 2026, over 320 new grassroots trade unions were established, and over 20,325 new trade union members were developed.

Commending 93 typical collectives and 65 individuals

At the conference, delegates also shared experiences in organizing Workers' Month at enterprises.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ta Mau Son - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Cua Y-A Chau Industrial Co., Ltd. (HCMC), the unit that received the Certificate of Merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said that he was very pleased that Vietnam dedicates a May month every year to care for and honor workers. Through the activities of Workers' Month, he realized that the Vietnam Trade Union not only represents and protects the legitimate rights and interests of workers, but is also truly a reliable support, always caring for the material and spiritual life of union members and families of workers. What impressed him particularly is that the Vietnam Trade Union pays great attention to traditional education, fostering patriotism and national pride for workers. “We believe that the sustainable development of enterprises is always associated with happiness, stability and the trust of workers through the bridge of the trade union organization. We are committed to continuing to develop production and business, well implement the provisions of Vietnamese law, take better care of workers and continue to closely coordinate with the Trade Union organization to build sustainable businesses, contributing to the overall development of Vietnam," Mr. Ta Mau Son emphasized.

On this occasion, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour commended 93 typical collectives and 65 individuals with many outstanding achievements in Workers' Month - Action Month for Occupational Safety and Health in 2026.
