With more than 1,000 union members and grassroots unions of HS Vietnam Chemical Company Limited, Soc Trang branch is always a solid support, promptly accompanying each union member and employee in difficult times.
A typical example is the case of Tran Van Thanh (19 years old), currently working in the delivery department. She has very difficult circumstances and is living with her elderly grandmother. In a recent work accident, a grinder failed to work, causing him to be treated at a cost of more than 6 million VND.
Immediately after receiving the information, the Executive Committee of the Company's Trade Union supported and called for donations from union members of more than 12 million VND to help her overcome the difficult period. Thanks to this support, Thanh has treatment conditions and can now walk normally.
Not only providing material support, the Union also regularly visited and encouraged him, helping him stabilize his spirit and continue working.
Another case is union member Tran Van Binh (29 years old) who has worked in the pressing department for more than a year.
Binh had a traffic accident, suffered a leg injury and had to take a half-month break.
Although her income is only over 4 million VND/month, she still has to take care of herself because she has lived alone for the past 4 years. His father passed away early, his mother had her own family, so Binh did not have relatives by his side when the accident happened. The union supported her with 2.5 million VND to have more money for treatment. Although the amount is not large, for Binh, it is a valuable support.
"I am very happy to receive support from the Union, feel less burdened with costs and receive care," Binh shared.
Mr. Huynh Thanh Hoai - Chairman of the Trade Union of HS Vietnam Chemical Company Limited, Soc Trang branch said that from the beginning of 2023 to now, there have been 8 difficult cases supported with a total amount of over 100 million VND.
"The first time I called was not much because everyone was not familiar with it. However, after a few times, trust and the spirit of mutual love have spread strongly. Most recently, in May, when there were traffic accidents, we raised nearly 40 million VND," said Mr. Hoai.
Mr. Hoai informed that the cases of support are mainly union members and workers from disadvantaged families who are struggling to make ends meet. The donation was launched urgently and completed in just 24 hours. Everyone participates completely voluntarily, depending on their ability. The donations are all made transparent in internal groups, and the image of the gifts is also sent to each union group.
"We always ask for permission from the Board of Directors before implementing activities. The Board of Directors not only agrees but also always supports in cash in most launches," said Mr. Hoai.
According to Mr. Hoai, in addition to taking care of emergency cases in difficult cases, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union also focuses on taking care of the spiritual and material lives of union members, such as rewarding books for children of union members with good academic achievements after each school year; organizing events to celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam Trade Union; giving gifts to female workers on October 20, Mid-Autumn Festival, Lunar New Year; supporting union members with serious illnesses.
In particular, in the past 3 months, the company has also supported shift meals worth 35,000 VND on the last Friday of each month (the usual meal fee is 18,500 VND).
