On the Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance Information Portal, reader T.T. T.H asked: "Is it mandatory for sanitation workers who are over working age to pay social insurance?
Phu Tho Provincial Social Insurance answers this question as follows:
According to the Law on Social Insurance No. 41/2024/QH15, employees who have reached retirement age but do not receive pensions, working under labor contracts at employers are still subject to compulsory social insurance contributions (except for civil servants and public employees).
Employees who sign labor contracts with multiple employers are required to participate in compulsory social insurance according to the first signed labor contract and participate in occupational accident and disease insurance for all remaining contracts.
The contribution level is 0.5% according to the salary stated in the labor contract and paid by the employer.
