Da Nang young workers affirm their capacity at facilities in Japan

Many Da Nang workers quickly integrated, affirming their capacity when exporting labor in Japan, opening up prospects for long-term labor cooperation between the two sides.

Merging and affirming capacity

Over the years, Da Nang City has established a strong cooperative relationship with Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan. Therefore, Nagasaki has become a leading destination for local interns, especially in the field of nursing and health care.

At the Kaifu Sou Special Care Center for the Elderly (Saikai city), Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (Hiep Duc commune) and Ms. Tran Phuong Thao (Tam Ky ward) have worked for nearly a year. From being shy and confused by language barriers and cultural differences, both have now become employees trusted by colleagues and management.

Japanese is the biggest challenge, but thanks to persistent learning every day, I gradually feel confident in communicating and adapting to work - Ms. Thuy shared.

Appreciating the efforts of young people, Ms. Lakamura - President of Kaifu Sou Center commented: Vietnamese trainees learn quickly, remember well, and are very proactive. We hope to receive more workers from Da Nang. Sharing the same view, Mr. Tanaka - Manager of Isahaya Chou Facility - said that at first they were worried, but in reality, they had proven their superior ability with the spirit of learning and working seriously.

Not only in Kaifu Sou, many nursing, production and service facilities in Nagasaki also recognize the rapid adaptation and persistent working spirit of Vietnamese interns.

According to statistics, from 2021 to the first half of 2025, more than 5,500 Da Nang workers have gone to Japan to work, many of whom have chosen Nagasaki. This is a great opportunity for young people, especially in rural and mountainous areas, to change their lives, stabilize their income and expand their future.

Accompanying and expanding cooperation

To help workers quickly integrate, reception facilities in Japan not only arrange suitable jobs but also organize Japanese language classes, vocational skills, and even connect the Vietnamese community to share life and work experiences. The Da Nang government and Japanese authorities also regularly coordinate to inspect, support, and create a stable and safe environment.

During recent working trips to Japan, the Da Nang delegation directly visited and encouraged many workers working in Nagoya, Saitama and Nagasaki. Japanese enterprises such as Musashino Group - a unit that provides millions of industrial meals every day - acknowledge the hard work, diligence and progressive spirit of Vietnamese workers, and affirm that they will continue to expand cooperation.

Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs of Da Nang City Nguyen Qui Quy said: "Income from labor export has contributed significantly to poverty reduction in mountainous areas, improving the lives of people in the plains. We continue to closely manage dispatching enterprises, while expanding cooperation with Nagasaki in the fields of manufacturing, agriculture, services and health.

In addition, over the past 4 years, the Social Policy Bank, Quang Nam branch has disbursed more than 36 billion VND to nearly 700 workers to borrow capital to work abroad, helping them reduce the burden of initial costs.

An important highlight is the human resource cooperation program between Da Nang and Nagasaki. Through the memorandums of understanding, the two sides shared information on labor needs, vocational skills, high-tech agricultural techniques, and proposed training for cadres, technology transfer in organic agriculture, livestock farming, digital tourism marketing, etc.

These cooperation not only help expand the labor export market but also improve the quality of human resources, so that after returning home, workers can start a business in their hometown, Mr. Quy emphasized.

In 2025, Da Nang aims to send 2,300 workers abroad to work for a limited period of time. The city requires relevant units to carefully assess potential markets, classify workers according to their qualifications, thereby orienting appropriate careers. At the same time, it is necessary to closely coordinate with businesses and localities to avoid the situation of absconding workers, ensuring long-term cooperation reputation.
