On the afternoon of June 25, the Can Tho City Labor Federation sent a document to grassroots trade unions (CĐCS) directly under it. According to the Can Tho City Labor Federation, recently, the situation of participating in online gambling games in many forms such as "no hu", "tai xiu", sports betting... tends to become complicated, creeping into the lives of a part of union members and workers, especially in industrial parks in the city.
Reality shows that many workers due to lack of understanding or the psychology of wanting to try their luck have participated in online gambling forms, leading to losing money, debt, seriously affecting family life, mental health, labor productivity and security and order in localities and businesses.
Some cases also arise from illegal acts due to borrowing, black credit or committing illegal acts to have money to participate in gambling.
The Standing Committee of the Can Tho City Labor Federation requested affiliated grassroots trade unions to focus on implementing many contents to raise awareness and legal compliance of union members and workers; contributing to building a safe, healthy, and civilized working environment.
Grassroots trade unions continue to promote propaganda and dissemination of laws on prevention and combat of social evils; especially legal regulations related to gambling and organizing gambling in cyberspace.
Strengthen propaganda and warnings about tricks to lure and seduce people to participate in online gambling; the economic, social, family and legal consequences for participants.
Integrate online gambling prevention and control propaganda content into trade union meetings, trade union group meetings, employee conferences, cultural, artistic, sports activities and trade union communication channels.
Along with that is to promote the role of trade union officials, propagandists, and public opinion collaborators in grasping the ideological situation of union members and workers; promptly detect, mobilize, and support cases with signs of participating in online gambling.
Encourage union members and workers to use social networks and the internet safely and civilizedly; actively participate in cultural and sports activities, improve spiritual life, and stay away from social evils.
