The 2026 high school graduation exam takes place in two days, June 11 and 12, with the highest number of registered candidates ever, with 1.2 million candidates taking the exam nationwide.
According to the plan, the Ministry of Education and Training will announce the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam at 8:00 AM on July 1. This is an important milestone for more than 1.2 million candidates nationwide to complete the next steps in the process of graduation consideration and university and college admissions.

Immediately after having the exam scores, candidates who need to re-examine their exam papers can submit applications at the registered exam site from July 1 to the end of July 5. The re-examination work will be completed by localities no later than July 20.
The consideration for high school graduation recognition is completed by the departments of education and schools before July 3rd. No later than July 7th, candidates will receive the Certificate of Exam Results, transcripts and related documents.
From July 2nd to 5:00 PM on July 14th, candidates officially register, adjust and supplement their university and college admission aspirations on the common admission system of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Admission results and university admission scores are expected to be announced after 5 pm on August 9.
This year, the grading work continues to be tightened to ensure fairness and reliability of the exam. Multiple-choice exam papers are graded entirely by machine with specialized software provided by the Ministry of Education and Training. The Literature subject is graded in two independent rounds according to unified national guidelines.
Notably, 2026 is the first time the Ministry of Education and Training has applied rubric in the essay exam marking of Literature.
This method uses a system of specific criteria and score frames, helping to reduce the subjectivity of the grader, while creating uniformity in the process of evaluating candidates' papers.
The Ministry of Education and Training said that the Literature exam questions are designed in an open direction, so the answers and grading methods also encourage creative thinking, respecting the opinions, arguments and personal perspectives of candidates if they ensure logic and are suitable for the requirements of the exam questions.
