Accordingly, the representative of the grassroots trade union in the industrial park in Hai Phong said that in reality, enterprises in the industrial park have paid a minimum wage higher than the regional minimum wage (14.7%) with an average of VND 5,698,000. However, through a survey from workers, this salary level has not yet guaranteed their lives. Therefore, to ensure a standard of living and accumulate, many workers have to work overtime, which can affect their health and family life. Grassroots trade unions propose a minimum wage increase of 6-8%.
On the business side, the units shared the difficulties in increasing salaries for workers. At the same time, it is proposed that the state take measures to control the consumer price index, have welfare support policies to reduce labor consumption costs; reduce input costs for raw materials...
Concluding the conference, Ms. Bui Thi Ngoc - Permanent Vice President of the Hai Phong City Labor Federation - acknowledged 10 comments from delegates at the conference. According to Ms. Ngoc, in the current period, it is difficult to have a breakthrough policy on increasing the minimum wage if it is proposed to be more than 7%. Therefore, the City Labor Union at all levels agreed to propose a salary increase of 6-7%.
During this time, the Hai Phong City Labor Federation continues to direct trade unions at all levels to promptly grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers; negotiate and propose regimes and benefits to increase income and improve working conditions for workers.
