The Labor Federation of Cam Giang district (Hai Duong province) has just announced the Decision to end the operation of its affiliated grassroots trade unions, implementing a roadmap to reorganize and streamline the organization according to the general policy of the Central and local governments.
The Cam Giang District Labor Federation was re-established on September 9, 2002. After 5 congresses, from a unit with a modest number of grassroots unions and union members, the District Labor Federation has now become a large-scale, diverse organization of all kinds, with 151 grassroots unions and nearly 20,000 union members. This is the unit with the 3rd largest number of affiliated trade unions in the province, after the Hai Duong City Labor Federation and the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union.
Throughout their activities, generations of district union cadres and affiliated union cadres have continuously inherited and developed the achievements of the periods, gradually improving the quality of grassroots union activities.
Programs to care for and protect workers' rights such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month", support union members in difficult circumstances... have made a deep impression. In addition, vibrant cultural, sports and competitive movements have contributed to connecting union members and building a rich spiritual life at the grassroots level.
Implementing the Central Resolution and the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee and the Provincial Federation of Labor, in the past time, the Cam Giang District Federation of Labor has developed and implemented a plan to streamline the organizational apparatus in accordance with regulations.
Accordingly, all 70 grassroots trade unions under the administrative agency sector, with a 100% budget salary, will cease operations; the remaining 78 grassroots trade unions will be transferred to the Hai Duong Provincial Federation of Labor for direct management.
This is a preparation step for the end of the activities of the District Labor Federation in June 2025, in line with the roadmap for arranging the Trade Union organization at all levels after implementing the merger of administrative units.
The end of the Cam Giang District Labor Federation's activities is part of the process of perfecting and streamlining the Trade Union organization in accordance with the new situation, contributing to improving the effectiveness of representation and caring for the rights of union members and workers.
