Quang Tri Labor Federation spreads program to eliminate temporary houses and build shelters for love

Công Sáng |

The Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor supports hundreds of poor households to build and repair solid houses, helping people settle down and stabilize their lives.

Happiness in a new house

In the hot July 2025, the spacious little house of Ms. Dinh Thi Bong, Minh Hoa commune, Quang Tri province has just been completed, still has the scent of new lime. Ms. Bong emotionally shared her joy when receiving timely support from the Provincial Labor Federation. She said that the money she was given helped her have more conditions to repair her old house that had been dilapidated for many years.

Every rainy and stormy season, she was afraid that the roof would not last and she had to run to her neighbor's house to make ends meet. Now, looking at the solid walls and the new corrugated iron roof, she feels more secure than ever.

Her family is just one of hundreds of poor households and households in especially difficult circumstances in Quang Tri province that have been supported in the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses implemented synchronously in recent times.

The joy was clearly seen on each person's face when receiving the key in hand, ending the worried months in a makeshift, dilapidated house.

Spreading community affection

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Quang Tri is a great effort, mobilizing the entire political system, all levels of the economy, businesses and people to participate.

The Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor said that since the beginning of the year, dozens of households have been partially supported to build and repair houses, helping them have a more stable and safer life.

Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor Nguyen The Lap informed that in the coming time, the Provincial Federation of Labor will continue to seek more resources and support in phase 2 of the program so that no one is left behind.

According to the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, phase 1 of the program has been completed with encouraging results: Thousands of households have new shelters, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction and strengthening the great national unity bloc. Phase 2 is being urgently prepared and is expected to be completed in the near future.

Quang Tri Provincial Party Secretary Le Ngoc Quang acknowledged and commended the efforts of all levels of sectors, local governments, armed forces, businesses and social organizations that have joined hands to implement this profound humanitarian program. He emphasized that it is the consensus and sharing of the community that has helped thousands of poor families rise up, settle down, and start a new future.

To achieve sustainable results of the program, the Provincial Party Secretary requested the early development of a comprehensive strategy on housing security, with a long-term vision, based on the experience inherited from Quang Tri and Quang Binh before the two localities merged. He also suggested that the authorities continue to review and update data on poor households and households with housing difficulties, ensuring publicity, transparency, and not leaving beneficiaries behind. Digital transformation in management and supervision will be promoted, in order to improve the efficiency of mobilization and resource allocation.

Along with that, all levels and sectors are assigned the task of strengthening propaganda and mobilizing the business community and people to continue to contribute to the "For the Poor" Fund. Outstanding collectives and individuals will be promptly rewarded to spread the spirit of solidarity and humanity. From the warmth of love, thousands of disadvantaged fates are being given wings of hope, rising up confidently to grasp the future.
