On January 7, the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor held a conference to review the labor movement and trade union activities in 2024; and deploy tasks for 2025. Attending were Ms. Thai Thu Xuong - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; leaders of the Long An Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission.
Mr. Nguyen Van Qui - Chairman of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the province currently has 26 industrial parks in operation with an industrial land area of 4,278 hectares, the occupancy rate reaching 68.08%; 17 industrial clusters in operation with an area of 857 hectares, the occupancy rate reaching 84.21%, the labor force coming to work in Long An province is increasing, up to nearly 450,000 workers.
With the theme of "Focusing on bringing the resolutions of the Trade Union Congresses at all levels into life; competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union", the Trade Unions at all levels of Long An province have strived to excellently fulfill their tasks, achieving and exceeding all targets assigned by the General Confederation of Labor, including 13/15 targets exceeded, typically: Number of newly established grassroots unions: 19/3 (reaching 633%); Number of excellent union members introduced by the Trade Union to the Party for consideration, training and admission: 3,391 union members/2,381 trade unions (reaching 142.4%); Number of trade unions in enterprises organizing Workers' Month activities: 1,017/633 (reaching 161%);
Total number of enterprises and units with qualified trade union organizations according to the law that have been negotiated and signed new collective labor agreements by the trade union: 89/60 (reaching 148%); Number of units and enterprises adjusting the value of shift meals to increase: 188/125 (reaching 150.4%)...
Many meaningful activities to take care of union members and workers have affirmed the role and position of the trade union organization towards enterprises and workers, creating a spread in society, highly appreciated by the Party Committee, and supported by sectors and levels, such as: the program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Warm Union Love"; the launching ceremony of "Workers' Month"; the program "Thanking workers"; contact with voters between the National Assembly Delegation of Long An province and workers in the province; dialogue between leaders of the Party Committee, People's Committees at provincial and district levels with workers and trade union officials; commending and rewarding excellent workers; commending typical examples in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style...
Speaking at the Conference, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong congratulated all levels of Long An Provincial Trade Union for their efforts to achieve good results in the past year.
At the same time, it is recommended that Long An Provincial Trade Unions at all levels continue to pay attention to and support Party members and workers in difficult circumstances; first of all, take care of Party members and workers during the Lunar New Year 2025; promptly launch emulation campaigns to achieve achievements in welcoming Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party. Focus on developing Party members, establishing grassroots trade unions, paying attention to innovating the method of admitting Party members in conjunction with improving the quality of Party members; paying attention to the work of introducing outstanding Party members for the Party to train and consider for admission...
On this occasion, 8 collectives received the Emulation Flag of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and 38 collectives received the Emulation Flag of the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor for their outstanding achievements in the labor movement and trade union activities in 2024. In addition, 178 collectives and 524 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Long An Provincial Federation of Labor.
