On the morning of August 9, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation's Area Management Working Group No. 1 organized a program to award Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship to children of workers, union members and take care of female workers in 2025.
On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation presented a total of 180 gifts, including 100 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) to students who are children of directly produced workers, union members of Area Management Working Group No. 1, with good academic achievements; along with 80 gifts (each worth 700,000 VND) to support female workers in difficult circumstances.
Tran Hoang Yen - a student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy expressed his emotion and honor at receiving the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship at the city level in 2025 for students in difficult circumstances.
"This scholarship is a great joy, a strong source of motivation to help me continue to study, practice and nurture my dream," Hoang Yen shared.
The female student said that her family is in a difficult situation, her father is a worker in the environmental sanitation team of District 3 Public Service Company Limited, her mother is past working age and is currently a housewife with an unstable income. Although supported by the locality and schools, the cost of studying and living, especially in the medical sector, is still a big burden. Outside of school hours, I take advantage of extra work to help my parents, reducing difficulties.
"Today, I really appreciate receiving this scholarship. This is not only a material gift but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for me and my family. The hearts of the leaders and benefactors have given me the determination to continue on the path of studying," Yen said emotionally.
Ms. Le Thi Kim Thuy - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation, Head of the Area Management Working Group No. 1 - said that over the years, the Nguyen Duc Canh scholarship has become a practical source of encouragement, providing timely support for many generations of students to overcome difficulties to rise up in studying and life.
"Behind each scholarship, each gift today is the heart, understanding and commitment of the trade union organization to continuously accompany the workers. The gifts for female workers are not only a sharing, but also affirm that the union is always a solid support, a companion on every journey," Ms. Thuy emphasized.
