As a female worker, the only member of the Communist Party of Vietnam representing more than 45,000 union members of Phu Yen province to be recognized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Chung - Sewing Line Manager, An Hung Joint Stock Company could not help but feel proud.
In 2006, when the organization encouraged her to join the Party, Ms. Chung was still hesitant because she thought "it was enough for a worker to finish her work every day".
But the examples of her colleagues who are party members in the company always completing their tasks excellently have given Ms. Chung the spirit to strive to join the Party to improve herself.
Over time, with the exemplary spirit of a Party member, Ms. Chung is always ready to take on new and difficult tasks. She said: "In 2018, when the Company implemented the Lean production model, I boldly accepted to be a pilot model for the entire company.
This is a new production model that requires a lot of awareness from workers. I persist in the policy of "slow and steady wins the race", using practical results to convince".
After 1 year of applying both theory and improving methods and tools to suit practical conditions, the pilot “Lean” model that Ms. Chung and her colleagues implemented was successful and was replicated throughout the company. Thereby, improving productivity and product quality of the sewing line.
Working at a company specializing in the production of export garments, the proportion of female workers directly involved in production accounts for over 75%. In order to effectively guide and improve workers' skills, as a line manager, Ms. Chung always has initiatives to propose to improve the professional capacity of women.
The outstanding solution is to use skilled workers to directly guide and train new workers with the motto of “holding hands, showing work” and “mutual self-learning”. With this method, improving the skills of sewing workers in the factory has achieved much better results, reducing pressure on the technical staff.
With the spirit of continuous learning and innovation to adapt, Ms. Chung always demonstrates the role of an exemplary Party member, spreading the spirit of creativity among employees. Over the years, together with her colleagues, Ms. Chung has participated in hundreds of initiatives and advanced operations applied to production to achieve efficiency, increase productivity, increase income for employees, contributing to completing the production targets of the department.
A typical example is the successful invention of a wire-unwinding disc for the mask sewing process during the COVID-19 pandemic. This invention saved the Company more than 250 million VND to buy specialized equipment.
Or the initiative to improve the hemming process, helping to save 175 seconds/process, the value of savings for the product code is more than 85 million VND... Along with a series of advanced operations to reduce the time to perform the sewing process, helping to increase the income of workers from 12 to 14 million VND/month.
Ms. Chung shared: “Until now, I still feel proud to stand under the Party flag. I am proud to be a Party member who is not afraid of difficulties and innovation to complete assigned tasks well.
For me, becoming a Party member has helped me cultivate the spirit of progress and constant striving. And I often share with many young employees at the Company that becoming a Party member helps me to improve myself better. Because the pioneering and exemplary spirit will motivate us to constantly strive."
