The conference was attended by Mr. Mai Ba Nam - Vice Chairman of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, representatives of the leaders of the Federations of Labor of some districts, towns, cities and FDI enterprises in the area.
According to the Thanh Hoa Provincial Federation of Labor, as of April 20, 2025, there are 40 FDI enterprises in the province with a total workforce of more than 174,000 people, an increase of 3,710 people compared to the February 2025 fair. In March and April, most enterprises will ensure jobs, wages and policies for employees. The ideology and mood of union members and employees are basically stable, working and producing with peace of mind.
35/40 enterprises organize overtime in some departments. Of which, 16 enterprises increased overtime from 0.5 to 1.5 hours/day; 18 enterprises increased from 2 to 3.5 hours/day; and 1 enterprise increased 4 hours/day for 2 days/week.
100% of enterprises have paid wages, shift allowances, allowances for diligence, fuel allowances and other allowances to workers on time. Many businesses have increased the level of meal allowance support for employees, in which Fruit of the Loom Vietnam Co., Ltd. (if correctly named) and TMVT Production Co., Ltd. support 25,000 VND/meal - the highest level today. The average income of employees reaches VND 8,488,000/person/month, an increase of VND 808,000 compared to February 2025.
However, in the past 2 months, there have been collective work stoppages in 13 enterprises with more than 28,000 workers and 2 enterprises (14,558 workers) showing signs of work stoppages but were handled promptly. The main reason is that workers have proposed increasing the regional minimum wage; increasing allowances for attachment, shift allowances, fuel allowances, raising young children, diligence, etc.
After grasping information about collective work stoppages, the Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with relevant agencies to organize direct work with enterprises to resolve them. As a result, the legitimate and legal proposals of employees are basically accepted and adjusted by the enterprise.
At the conference, representatives of enterprises, trade unions at the grassroots level and grassroots trade unions reflected a number of difficulties and problems in implementing labor regimes, policies and laws at enterprises.
Based on the opinions at the conference, representatives of the Provincial Federation of Labor requested the Federations of Labor of districts, towns, cities, and industry unions to strengthen their grasp of the situation, concerns, and aspirations of union members, coordinate with employers to promptly resolve recommendations and proposals from employees, and build harmonious, stable, and progressive labor relations in enterprises.
In addition, it is necessary to coordinate with business leaders to visit and support workers' families in especially difficult circumstances; direct grassroots unions to coordinate with enterprises to organize employee conferences and dialogue conferences at the workplace; increase negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements...
